Mitali Saikia Poem
My garden is an art of splendour,
I behold her with all my gaiety,
A garden of flowers and hope blossoming alike,
With all its beauty.
The buds splutter,
The mystic mystery unfolds with its glory,
Giving way to the symphony,
A harmony of colours and sounds so deep.
The soft petals dances to the melodious hues,
Spellbinding the onlookers,
A riot of colours it is!
Pink, purple, red, yellow, green, orange, scarlet and many more.
The butterflies waver through the unending haze,
The bees buzz adding to the tunes of melody,
The chirping birds twitter incessantly,
It's a confluence of colours and melodies so sweet,
The master conductor is the wind,
It directs every soul in the garden,
To break into the euphoria.
The wind chimes tingle with delight,
As if to thank me for their site,
Along the trails I hung them so dearly from the lamp post and trees.
Amidst all the extravaganza,
A happy me!
Hopping and tapping on the stepping stones,
Twisting and turning through the garden coves,
Here and there a nest erupts
among the shrubs and trees,
To signal a new dawn.
What more can I wish for?
As I wander and ponder
Through the poppies, pansies, poinsettia and phloxes,
Salvias, sweet william, succulents and shrubs,
The over powering Gulmohar and magnolia,
Atop the jasmines and the bougainvilleas.
They are all there in my garden,
There is colour, there is sound, there is life, there is hope,
My piece of haven I call it,
A colourful heaven in all its right,
And a peaceful eternity in all its might.

Mitali Saikia Poem
Childhood days are golden,
With dreams in our eyes
About life being so radiant,
Beautiful, vibrant and nice
Adolescence ushers in,
Heaps of fancy dreams,
Our aspirations are sky high,
With a galore of fantasies
And as adulthood dawns,
The reality gets unveiled
Oh how harsh life can be
Only then one get to realise
Old age is so daunting that
I dread going through,
But it's about welcoming our age gracefully
That brings in happiness bountiful and true

Mitali Saikia Poem
O my feisty little cloud
From places afar you sail
Along the leeway
With gaiety so profound!
I treasure a hidden desire
To share my thoughts with you
Could you stop by for a moment
Give me a minute or two
With all the silver linings
You sail over mountains and seas
Did you chance upon a special someone
Who could be tucking a note for me
I've seen the sweetest of messages
On the soft petals of flowers
And in the wobbling shiny dew drops
Over the lush green blades of grass
I've heard the blowing wind whisper
To the the forests and hills around
Soulful tunes of melody
Where pleasures of my heart can be found
O my pretty cloud do tell me
Tell me with all your glee
Could I be meeting that special someone ,
In the valley of eternity!

Mitali Saikia Poem
I fly high into the sky
I soar and soar alone
I am a little seagull
The seas and oceans are my home
Over the waves I wander
I meet others on my way
We huddle and create memories
And then we depart away
A lonely life I lead
Across the valleys and hills
From shore to shore I ponder
And dive into the deep blue seas
I love to sing and chatter
I love the sun at dawn
I love the shells that wobble
And the radiant hues of morn
I envy nobody
Nobody cares when I am gone
I am just a happy little birdie
And my life goes on and on

Mitali Saikia Poem
Life's journey is always uncertain
We never know whether it'll be happiness or pain
It's hope that'll always keep us alive
And for a better future we all shall strive.
And sure there'll be a brighter tomorrow
And everything will be okay
We'll be having a good good life
And that's what, my conscience say.
I have seen the best of times
And seen the worst as well
But time is a great healer by itself,
And how? It's only for time to tell.
The worst days will pass off
Paving the way for good
Our good old days will be back I say
Let's just do our duties, what we should.
But amidst of all these chaos
There are some lessons learnt,
That should we defy nature
We shall bear its brunt.
But for now let's all hope against hope,
And Let's pray that everything be fine
For sure it'll be a good good life
And we all shall rise and shine.

Mitali Saikia Poem
I spent my day shopping for rubies,
And what a day it was I swear,
A rollercoaster you could say,
For a ruby that I could flaunt and wear!
It all started with an invite,
A tiny little card which read
"Cordial invitation to you dear friend",
And to attend the same I would be very glad.
My thoughts then suddenly pondered ,
To the new red gown I had bought
It would match very well with a Ruby brooch
Aaah ! and that's what triggered my thought!
I drove out to the market next morning,
Starting from the highland mall
Hopping from one shop to another,
No, I wasn't having a ball!
Hither and thither I was roaming ,
In search of that one little jewel ,
But couldn't find that one special piece,
That would make my heart with pride swell !
My feet were tired and limping,
I knew I had to put a stop
For I tripped and hurt my toe in this sojourn,
Yet I was determined not to give up.
Suddenly then, did I realise,
That the sun was going down
But that precious Ruby brooch I wanted,
Was no where in the town.
Much exhausted and weary,
I was almost heading back
The feeling was not very good I say,
Even though I bought a Ruby for my neck.
Amidst the flickering city lights,
A glow sign caught my sight,
"Precious rubies sold here" it read,
All shining and bright!
At once I screamed with delight,
Startling the driver of the cab,
He was so bewildered and confused,
That he stopped the car with a drag.
Crossing my fingers I stepped in,
To this brand new Jewellery shop ,
The glitz and glitter was dazzling,
I knew it was my one last stop.
And among those dazzling beauties,
One ruby outshone the rest,
I knew, that was the one I was wanting,
To adorn my beautiful chest.
All's well that ends well
I hear the people say,
So it's a day spent well at last,
And I returned home happy and gay!

Mitali Saikia Poem
Sometimes you feel everything and then nothing at all!
Sometimes you are happy and sad at the same time!
Sometimes you love someone and then wish you didn't love so deeply!
Sometimes you want to dive within yourself but the next moment you don't!
Sometimes you want to feel the love and then feel it doesn't exist at all !
Life is so funny isn't it?
Just when you think you've got it all figured out it's neither.
Just when you finally begin to plan something, get excited about it and you know what direction you are heading in, the path change, the signs change and the wind starts blowing the other way!
North is suddenly south and .. east is west and you are just lost and confused!

Mitali Saikia Poem
I yearn for you in the most innocent form,
You captivate and enrapture me,
I cherish you, adore you with passion I hold,
I admire you, respect you and have affection for you,
I yearn to say that I feel for you when you are at your low,
And I yearn to share your happiness when you are in your glory.
I yearn for you in ways, where I just want to be next to you and nothing less or more.

Mitali Saikia Poem
Dawn allures me, but it's the dusk I endure,
Darkness, I have fallen in love with,
Night has befriended me,
The silence of the night says a thousand things,
As I gently surrender in its arms.
It's the deep night that I long for,
When darkness nurses my dreams,
Humming the sweetest tune, until dawn unfolds.
But I await with fondness for the light to fade,
To embrace the dark in all its beauty, I do crave.

Mitali Saikia Poem
I sit every morning in my patio
And as I sip my morning tea
A russet sparrow in its glory
Comes to sit by me
She twitters and twitters incessantly
As if to tell her tale
With a radiant glow in her eyes
She perches amidst the rails
Once a while she nibbles
Into the plate of grain I give
Hopping and springing she wanders
Picking some twigs and leaves
I talk to her at random
She nods as if she understands
Then pauses and patters so keenly
Like a very trusted friend
I love her sweet company
Hope she does it too
A tiny little birdie she is
With shades of black grey hue
I enjoy the moments so dearly
I long to be one like her
To be ignorant of all the worldly sorrows
And just be happy as you are
