The Succulent Flower

Do you wish to taste
the succulent flower
as she grows, anxious, in the garden?
Morning’s blush arouses
her soft pink petals
and they become warm and moist with dew
A sweet musky scent fills the air
It calls to you
and you cannot resist
Her sultry aroma
holds the promise
of unabashed ecstasy
She blooms
open and eager
beneath you
She is ready to be exposed
You brush against her petals
and she quivers
with anticipation
You caress her
teasingly,
lovingly,
for she is inviting
Velvet smooth perfection
She is yours to possess
You reach for her
and take her
quickly
You hold her close against you
And for a brief moment
she is all you know
She is a prize,
your prize,
to be put in her place
You display her
so others will know your worth
Sadly, she sits alone
in her vase,
withered and undesired

Do You Feel Me...

Teetering…

on that prolific edge of mediocrity

Groping…

like some street-ravaged whore in the darkness

Clinging…

to that abstract formality of “us”

Drowning…

as you lie, complacent, in your nothingness

Timothy

Where are you
You do not come to me
When I call your name
How long shall I wait
I walk alone in the shadows
Where only the moon shines bright
Will you be my guide
I stood there
In this place
Once
And knelt
And wept
Sweet child
Beautiful
I wish to drink you in
I wish to feel your cheek
Upon my lips
My arms are vacant
Where you once lay
Empty lullabies
I hear them still
Sweet memory
Comes to me at last
You are near
We dance and sing
Precious child
You are mine forever
My heart is full of pain
It weeps child
Where are you

Life...

The pretentious rock
Craggy and malformed
Jutting brazen
Upon the sandy shore
Suffering
The slow and steady onslaught
of the ocean’s perpetual rhythm
Eventually
To become a pebble
Small and insignificant
Yet smooth to the touch
And curiously beautiful
In its own right
A result of years of wear
