Living Over Fear

A part of the Bible describes us as gods
I guess that’s why Samson could push walls and bend rods
Moses could divide seas with a stick
And none of the elements dared to speak.
These are great stories of great men
And forgive me if I forget the tale of the lion’s den.
The major thing these men conquered was fear
Which is one thing we fail to realize puts us in the rear.
Take a second to critically think,
Trust me I did so before putting this to ink
Your parents overcame fear for you to be born
Knowing that they’ll live their lives with a daughter or a son
Who might be a lawyer or a pharmacist
Or maybe a pain in the arse drug addict
You won’t be wrong to say fear is in our human genes
But to be a god, you have to be more than just a human being
Fear might be the difference between defeat and victory
At least that’s something I’ve learnt from legends and history

Mirrors

Mirror ,Mirror on the wall
I know you can’t hear me when I call
Maybe you can, none can tell
Because you tell me the truth ever so well
As you show me my ugly face
I am reminded once more why life is an unfair race
Why I might never ever get the girl
Honestly, I’m not sure I even care
Too bad you won’t let me see my soul
Which I’m sure is far uglier than the face you show
Most times I just sit and stare
Somehow hoping that I’ll manage to fare
In this world that’s ruled by deception
Selfish Competition and constant manipulation
Mirror ,mirror help me to learn
That the truth is true no matter how stern.

Dreams

And no I’m not crazy
Maybe a little tipsy but nothing close to sober
It still doesn’t mean I’m crazy for wanting the best range rover
You might be laughing like I cracked a bad joke
Or insinuating that I had a bit of that cheap coke
But trust me, I’m not crazy.
Hearing my dreams and aspirations, it might sound like I’m on a wild goose chase
Because you underestimate my speed but trust me I’m up for the race
Although she says ‘NO’ now because I don’t meet her expectations,
In a few years time, the boy she dumped would be the center of admiration.
I guess it’s time t wake up now, oh shit, it was just a dream
But I’ll still get out of my room with that beam
Like the lead actor in a James bond film.

Monalisa

MONALISA
I entered the room; on one Friday afternoon
With no intentions, just my mere intuitions
But the universe definitely had other plans
Did I see it coming? Naah, not a chance
Although my eyes beheld a very beautiful lady
I said to myself, “Forget it mate, you’re not even ready”
Oh no! it was already too late
She already said ‘hi’ who am I to hesitate
It wasn’t too long I realized
All I wanted in a friend had materialized
With her beautiful voice, she said to me
Words that in my mind have now come to be
“I want to be your sweetest hello and your hardest goodbye”
Those were the sweetest words I’ve heard that wasn’t a lie
I had to pinch myself, maybe I was on a pill
No, this was no drug, it was goddamm real
She said her name was Mona Lisa
Not the painting, this was way way deeper
Da Vinci couldn’t have created this
This was way beyond his artistic bliss
I thank God for that blessed noon
When I found a jewel most people won’t find on the moon
