My Destiny

Why am I here? Why am I in this space?
My body is here, my spirit is not, what is the case?
I look at my surroundings and examine objects closely
As I’m sitting in a confined room that’s warm and toasty
I tell myself I obviously don’t belong here
This is not my destiny, but I know it’s near
These spirits are too comfortable and complacent
My spirit is solely focused on future emplacement
At the same time I need these resources and networking opportunities
So I can build bridges and uplift my community
There’s a goal in mind with a strict timeline
Cadence is key and sometimes I feel crazy like Einstein
Deep down, I know it’s part of the process for me to succeed
I’m just a vessel ready and willing to plant a seed.

True Submission

Surrendering gives life,
To surrender is to have power
Power over every dominion
Power to change
Power to lead
Power to go untouched when every hand is against.
With every inhale and exhale
There’s a submission
To the next breath that allows
The lungs to fill up with air and release gases
That’s power within.
Whether it’s used for good or bad
So, what source do you submit?
What gets total surrender?
Whatever you choose to surrender to 
That’s what you’re responsible for.
That’s what you’re entrusted with
Don’t allow you’re fear,
Lack of belief,
Or understanding
Deter you away from your assignment.
Submit to His will!

Present Living

Got to be in the moment. Live. Be present.
Forget the past. Don’t anticipate the future. Just live.
To presently live is to let go of anxious thoughts.
Let go of held stress baring weights. 
Let go of everything that causes you to worry day in and day out.
However, future must be blocked.
Yeah, it’s good to think about the future and plan, 
But too much futuristic planning 
Can cause us to miss out on what’s sustaining in the present.
In the present, I find peace. I find relief. 
I find presence with myself, my spirit, my soul, my God.
It’s what I look forward to.
Receiving intellect, reasoning, realizations, epiphanies,
Taking time to inhale in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide to the earth.
Oxygen to presently live
Carbon dioxide to release whatever that doesn’t serve me.
Today, I choose to simply be and live in the present.

It wasn’t until I started to live for myself
That I had to die to myself
In order to live for God through myself.

Flesh Is Meat

What is flesh? 
Is it weak? 
Is it meat? 
Does it stink? 
Only when dead, or maybe even alive. 
Flesh is the part that owes a surprise 
To the inner you, the favored you, the spirit you
Is flesh really you? 
Why is it so hard to let go? 
We can live without it 
But it’s hard to acknowledge 
Vegetarian or veganism is a road that’s least traveled 
Because it requires discipline to say no
An obedience to say yes, and
A will to let go of eating flesh
To die to flesh, 
To say “good bye flesh”
And live without flesh. 
Besides, it’s only meat, not always tender
Sometimes foolish, and other times weary
But most times a distraction from purpose and destiny. 
Are you willing to give up your meat? 
Get rid of flesh to get rid of flesh. 
Choose to die daily.
