The Disney Princess Poem

You may be thinking
“when will my life begin”
When will the storm subside
So I can see the “colors of the wind”

You may “wonder”
If you’re “almost there”
You find in this “whole new world”
Something special to share

Beautiful as “Belle”
As “sweet as a Nightingales’” song
The hope inside you
Starts to grow strong

Your dreams rise to “touch the sky”
And a “part of your world”
Goes flashing by

“who’s that girl?”
You may ask
“letting it go” may be a difficult task
But if you dare to stay alert
And learn to “whistle while you work”

You may find joy in all you do
And the dreams you dream will come true.

Jack of All Trades

At work
I slave away
And during the day
I read, I watch
I plan, I dream
Setting goals
Making everything seem
That in a few years it will all come together
But in a few years will all of this matter?

I’m a jack of all trades
But a master at NONE
I slave away
Until the day is done
But for what?
For who?
Am I doing all of this Just to have something to do?

I ask, I pray, I watch
No time for fun
Not until ALL my work is done
In hopes to better my future
In hopes to better myself
Not leaving my dreams to be lived by someone else

I’ve read all the books
I’ve done all the classes
I’ve listened to the masters instead of the masses
7 steps to wealth
12 steps to riches
The “keys”,
The “wisdom”,
 The “knowledge”,
The “tickets”.
The tickets to the money train
The keys to the treasure box
I’m overwhelmed by all this “want this” & “want not”
Who am I?
Who will I be?
I guess only God can look in and see.

Maybe I’m overlooking all the important things
Maybe my “riches” aren’t exactly what they seem
Maybe it’s love, patience, giving and kindness
Maybe its overcoming life’s struggles, chaos, and madness
Maybe it’s in the strength of my mind over the dismay of the world
Maybe it’s in my parenting of my sweet, baby girl

All this time I thought I had failed
I thought my ship to success had already sailed
I thought I was a jack of all trades and a master at none.
But my kid said, “No, Mom, you’re wrong.
You’re a master at one.
You raised me right, you raised me well.
You’re a great mom! I can tell.”

Whoa, well people do say
You can’t buy happiness
And I’m one of the few
That believes this is true.
For all the work, learning, and adding action to plans,
I’ve found that I’m rich in character, integrity, and helping my fellow man.

So I stopped thinking of all this “wasted” work I had done over the years
I realized that through the blood, sweat, pain, and tears
That my efforts, dreams, and goals weren’t in vain
Instead of money, homes, cars and other material things
I got something that money cannot buy,
A daughter
Beautiful, smart, and wise.

Yes, I’ve mastered something
And this something is great!
And here I thought it was way too late!
Yes, I’m a jack of all trades
But now I’m a master at ONE!
In all my years
I’ve become a great mom!

I’m truly a success
Because of you Jess!

Hit Repeat

Hit Repeat
Written by Rebekah Shipp
June 6, 2016

When this sick beat drops
And you find yourself lost
Bass ALL up in your ears
And your eyes start to tear
When the treble pops your lid
It’s Casablanca all over again
Cause all I hear you sayin is “here’s lookin at you kid”

It’s too fast
You too fast
Flying lyrics off my tongue too fast
Suddenly I’m on your mind in a flash
Suddenly you know I’m here to last

It’s so much fun
Rhyming on my tongue
Like Celeste be sayin’
You better run, run, run
Throwing lyrics so quick
You must be stunned
Go, go, go, you got this son!

So please don’t fight
You know I’m right
I throw ‘em so swift
I’m outta sight
I must be tight
To the left & to the right
Everybody hold on with all your’ might
Cause it just might be
That thing you see
In the rear view mirror, Listening
Staring back at me
Whispering
We try so hard to keep it clean

We Riled up
Toasted up
I’m in your mouth
You know what’s up
So shut up
With that bass in your truck
Tryin’ to drop some bars
With your face in the mud

So please say a prayer for me
At night before you go to sleep
Before you drift & start to dream
Please plug me in and hit repeat!

So listen up carefully
we rollin up & down these streets
your bars are droppin to your feet
You know you can not count on me
Cause I’m the one
I’m still not done
Beats blazin on you like the sun
Yes I have won!
Now you have gone
deep down inside you still want some

Now lets try this one more time
Cause I am yours and you are mine
You think you Cash, then walk the line
Just like in time
As fine as wine
I keep on goin side by side
I keep on goin
Rhyme after rhyme

This is crazy
I can’t stop
I hit the mike
As his beat drops
I hit the stage as my flow rocks
I hit the page
My pen won’t stop!

What?! What?! How can this be?
He does it so dang naturally
His bass so sick
His bass so ill
My eyes wide open
Body chill
I call it null
He call it nill
I call it shrimp
He call it krill
I call it pane
It’s window sill
Now don’t you fret, I got the bill.

And now we done with this at last
It always ends up with a crash
And you got mad cause you got trashed
And now you sad cause you ain’t fast!

Don’t be sad…

I Am Great Indeed

Even on the days that I’m lonely and sad,
I know that I’m great
And that makes me glad.

I am beautiful and smart!
Intelligent and kind!
I have it all!
The world is mine!

I am here on this earth
Not just to survive,
I am here to live, give,
Love, and thrive!

No more doubt, fear, or pain,
I look to the Lord for all that I gain.

Yes, I am great!
I am awesome indeed!
I have crossed dry deserts,
I have tackled rough seas.

You can do your worst,
Cause you know I’ll do mine!
I am great!
I was born to shine!

Inside me awaits a lion
Ready to roar!
Inside me awaits an eagle
Ready to soar!

So, let courage be thy friend
Stand up and take charge!
Move beyond your limits
Seek to climb, run, fly far!

Okay, so now that you know the truth,
That there’s greatness and power
Deep inside of you,

Don’t be afraid to let it out,
Get rid of the pain, the fear, the doubt.

Shine not just for yourself
But for all you meet,
Step into your power
For you are awesome indeed!

Don’t listen to the world
And all of its lies,
Instead listen to the words
Of the old and the wise.

They will tell you how to win
And how to succeed,
And God will give you
All that you need.

So, through it all,
With strength and belief,
Just keep saying,
“I am great indeed!”

To My Girl

To my girl
Across the world
I miss you
Won’t dis you
Keep swimming
Like fish do
No issue
Wit your crew
You won’t lose
You hit snooze
On dumb fools
You choose to
To let loose
To spread news
And walk out
In his shoes

Say it louder
All the power
Full of faith
Not a doubter
You either in
Or you outta
Standin strong
Like Trump Towers
Now on the border
The days are are colder
Nights are shorter
They outta order

You in a cage
So play it safe
You fight to live
Another day
So let em stay
To find a way
& Play the cards
As they lay

And if I may
Let me say
We in to win
And not be tamed

Did you hear
Not to fear
Not to shed
Another tear
The end of days
Is nearly here
So listen up
And draw in near

Now come around
We just found
We walk
On holy ground
We hear
A holy sound
We hold
A holy crown
That’s all we need
To succeed
For God to go
In front of me
For God to go
And set us free
For God to say
Just be wit me
So that’s the life
That we seek
That’s the life
That we lead
We in God’s house
So take a seat
And now you know
We can’t be beat!

End the Trend

Just say NO to the big mac and fries!
Say NO to diabetes, heart attacks, and fat thighs!
Just say NO to breakfast tacos with bacon,
Say NO to greasy, processed foods or your body will be achin!

Say NO to eatin’ pizza- almost every night
Put down the chocolate donut
Now don’t put up a fight!
Say NO to watchin’ TV
For eight hours straight
Take a walk, a quick jog, just get out and play!

Dust off the gym equipment
Get out your tennis shoes
Get your heart pumpin’
You got nothin’ to lose

Well except the fat,
And that’s a fact,
When you see the results
There is no goin’ back!

Come on San Antonio!
It’s time to make a change!
We gotta lead by example
So our kids will do the same!

Let’s give ourselves better foods and exercise more
Let’s give our bodies all the goodness that its’ been beggin’ for!
Let’s support each other in Ending This Trend!
Say NO to obesity and let the games begin!

Holla!

The 's' On My Chest

I got the S on my chest
Cause I am the best
You wanna come and see
Then follow me, not the rest

I will show you how to rock
Then show you how to roll
I will show you how to get lean & fit
That’s for sho’!

Cause I’m strong, I’m lean
I’m healthy and fit
My hott Beachbody is too legit to quit

I like to do TurboFire, P90X too
Cause Chalene and Tony don’t play me like no fool

Now I’m jumpin and punchin like never before
Then Shaun T’s got me doin pushups on the floor

Now I’m lookin fine
And I’m feelin great
Yes, doin Beachbody has made me lose weight!

And drinkin Shakeology
From day to day
Gives me lots of energy so I can run and play

So don’t mess with me
And my Beachbody crew
Cause we’ll whip you into shape
And you’ll see a new you

Now don’t be scared
Have no fear
We are here to help you
Within the next year

So soon you will see
That YOU are the best
Yes!
Soon you will see
You got the S on YOUR chest!

Peace!

My Please! Is Now Praise!

Because of your grace
You’ve given me reason to sing,
Because of your glory
The world is an old thing.

See, something new has arisen in me
And I want to tell the world,
I want to share your peace and love
With every man, woman, boy, and girl.

You’ve turned my mourning into dancing
My hurt into love,
Now instead of looking back
I only look above.

My heart now beats with joy
And I’m determined to follow your ways,
Because of you I am alive!
You have turned my “Please!” into “Praise!”

Give In

I went home, I could have stayed,
But I knew in the end how it would play.

That even for this brief moment of time,
When my lips touched his, and his lips touched mine,
It would be so blissful, a piece of heaven we’d share,
As we’d slip slowly into a feverish affair.

I’d feel his breath on my neck, his hands on my thighs,
I’d lay in his arms as I closed my eyes.
We’d dive deep into a place of no return,
And live there for a while as the passion fires burned.

Mmm, how I love the way he tastes and he smells so sweet,
Yes, I’m dangerously getting close to being swept off my feet.

So, I could have stayed, but in the end, I fled,
For I knew how it play out, with us both in bed.

And I know that my heart desires so much more,
But there I’d be, left all alone, my heart in pieces on the floor.
And I’d rather not be in a state of ‘dazed and confused’,
To give in one time just to being amused.
I know for sure that it’s worth the wait,
To find the one I can give in to every, single, day.

But I have to be honest, my words must be true,
Even though I slightly gave in, I’m glad I gave in to you.

Only the Angels Can Hear It

My heart grows more fond of you
As each day passes,
My soul is a riveting spirit,
Your kiss lifts me up into heaven,
And my cry for love,
Only the angels can hear it.
