Introduction

If I cannot be a better Father, I will be a better son.
If I cannot be a lover, I will become a better man.

One Day

One day my love, we will be together
One day my love, like times shared before
One day my love, i'll be here forever
One day my love, i'll love you much more

One day my love, my love will just end
One day my love, when hearts beat no more
One day my love, until this depend
One day my love, my heart will be yours

One day my love, and all in between
One day my love, of this I am sure
One day my love, 'tis of you I dream
One day my love, my sad heart you'll cure

One day my love, in your eyes I will stare
One day my love, before you i'll stand
One day my love, my bold heart will dare
One day my love, to take of your hand
One day my love, one day..

Butterflies

Oh those butterflies, they keep me awake, keep me from hunger, keep me anxious. For days now, weeks they persist.

They make my fingers tingle and my heart pound. Those beautiful little creatures, I wish I could resist.

Why do they torment me so? I've always loved the way they flutter, but it seems now they insist.

I ought to be used to them by now, and yet they give me no rest, not any.

And what is it all for? This nervousness, a battle? I've had so many lately.

Or is it the promise of meeting a long missed loved one? A new born baby?

So now day by day, I have learned this; if those butterflies stopped, my heart would they miss.

So now little beauties, please do not cease. As my heart relies on you so, that my love you release.

Forlorn Heart

The love that I make will never be true,
As the girl I make love to, will never be you.
The girl I make love to, she has not your face.
When closed are my eyes, it's her you replace.
The girl I make love to will bring me to tears,
When I talk to my conscience, it's your voice I hear.
The girl I make love to acts with such grace,
She knows I see you, in our cold embrace.
The girl I make love to, will leave me today,
As you did before her, a lifetime away.

Spider

I killed a spider today. I didn't mean too. I knew it was there. I'd been minding it all day. It was hiding. I squashed it by accident. I am ashamed. A spider can carry a soul, back from the dead. I never kill spiders, if I can help it, as I once knew a spider that carried a familiar soul.

A Day On the Hill

We sit in the sun, and steal glances
I catch my tongue before it utters 'I love you'
You look away, and I gaze at your lips
Holding my tongue still
And you look back, my turn to look away
Do you hold your tongue as I do?
For a moment, a minute, an hour, nothing else matters
Quiet moments shared, contented, tranquil
It's as if we should be

Untitled

How do I convey
What I mean to say
To a heart that cries
Yet i'm mesmerised

No more can I hide
The affection inside
A body so weak
Who's conscience is meek

What would I give
A heart that forgives
The hand of a lover
I may yet discover

It seems such a waste
To lose an embrace
I pay now the cost
For what's foolishly lost

A memory that's passed
In time it might last
Like a beat in a heart
Of a body apart

I wonder her thought
And do what I ought
To savour a kiss
That I sorely miss

It didn't last long
And now that she's gone
I await her return
For a touch I yearn

Now I grow tired
From one time inspired
Left only to dream
Of love I have seen

A soul that is pure
Of this I am sure
That never again
I'll suffer in vain

So now when I meet
Her beauty so sweet
I'll choke on my breath
For that which I left

And now I decide
To swallow my pride
And remember her taste
Forget not in haste

I meant not to break
A heart by mistake
In time I intend
For this heart to mend

It's this that I say
Should love ebb away
I fear i'll not find
A lover so kind

These words that I write
Mean nothing this night
For I can't express
This beat in my chest

And when it is read
This verse in my head
Upset not your eyes
With tears that I cry

So now when it rains
I'll think once again
I'll take to the grave
The joy that she gave

I'd like now to state
That as my heart breaks
I hope she'll forgive
So I may still live

Untitled

This is the bottle from which we both drank,
This is the glass in which my heart sank.
This is the day my lover did die,
This is the tear that my eye did cry.

Then was the time that her voice did shine,
Then was the way that her hand fell in mine.
Then was the night in which she did stay,
Then did I dream when she'd go away.

Now are the nights she watches me sleep,
Now that I know my soul hers to keep.
Now my new love does ask to my shame,
"Now that I'm here, would you love me the same?".

Another Eternity

He knows this will be their last embrace.
He holds her as tight as he dare.
His tears in her cheek.
He would remain there forever.
He will lock her into his heart.
And she will keep the key.
His heart will turn to stone, impenetrable,
Surrounding at its core, a tiny yet intense fire for her rages evermore furiously.
A memory of how it was.
Of how it might have been, should have been perhaps.
He thinks of how it had been done all so wrong.
All things happen for a reason.
It was meant to be so.
This way, this love, would never die.
He was old enough to know that,
This love happens seldom a lifetime, if ever for some.
But young enough to still have hope.
He takes comfort from the words of the ambassadors of the stars.
The ancient ones who oversee.
He knew this was by their design, if not his own.
There is a higher purpose.
And maybe, with the slow passage of time,
Their moment together to be, would last an eternity again.

Untitled

I will defend you till the end of the earth
Right or wrong, for I love you
You inspire me and fill me with wonder
I have no fears around you
And the battle of heart and mind only a memory
