No One Is You

I endure the pang of solitude...the sigh of a forlorn love
Time is no healer, every sand of time brings in moments
I hasten to go- halves with none but You,
My confidant, my best soul mate
To lose the man I had relied on for so long
Is utterly devastating...
Never was life bed of roses,
But all that mattered when you were around
Only you can understand the depths of my pain
Only you can feel my deafening silent tears
People say you left in a hurry... so untrue...!
You're right here in full flesh and blood as me.
You made me strong and I will move on as you
See the care, courage and peace in my eyes
That bejewelled in you... oh yes,
You had all the time in the world to transform me into you
You did leave without a hint, but you were not in a hurry
The credence gets stronger in my heart,
As I gaze into the eyes of our progeny... yes,
They look at me the way I used to look at you
Eyes crammed with dream, faith and selfless love
My heart skips some beats that moment
To stand stronger than we had begun.
Ultimately, I discern that, it is not you who is lost!
You're right here in full flesh and blood as me.
It's me who is mislaid, lost in search of the refuge called you
When you've sapped all my tears and heart sunk in mourning
I realize... You're right here in full flesh and blood as me
I don't need me... I have your job to do
They're your legacy and I will bring them up as best I can
As a leopardess can't change her spots...
so as I remain who I am!
And you are the Apple of my eye forever!
Whatever I am today has come from you...
I am told, the pain will ease in time...
Time is no healer but I have learnt running along with time!
As of me, my lonely love shall find its way to you !!!

( In tribute to my beloved husband (late) Mr. Zakir Hussain)

You Are More Than Just You

My little girl was her Daddy's Angel
But never less than her Mommy's treasure!
A true blessing in disguise with no wings
Naughty, yet beautiful beyond description
Was waiting to see her grow to be wonderful just like us
A sudden tornado tore our lives all apart
I wander with a ruffling mind aimlessly
I sweep through night and day but fall short at times
Evenings touch my feeble hands
And I searched her distant eyes,
She looked back with love and trust for shelter
Her constant gaze with a mirror image
Was reading my inner struggle
She threw her voice at my pain and said
There is no strength with easy past
Every time she tripped and fell, I learnt something about me
She taught me to battle more than once
Greater storm, brighter rainbow
I learnt atlast to sail my ship from the budding captain
Yes, only she could melt my temper
With much love dripping full of memories
Both sweet and bitter nostalgic moments
My tears spilled over and I realised
She is the joy of my life... the light of my eyes
I try to survive and push on!
She still needs me and believes that I am unstoppable
And that makes me want to breakdown sometimes.
Don't know why it's so hard for me to see how incredible I am!
She knew all my hidden past and yet she asked
Desperate to pull and push me out
To help me see the light in the dark
Just to remind me who I was and who still I am.
She was my strong hope though small
Mothering and giving me a shoulder to cry
And after all the tears those gestures brought
I thanked her for loving me unconditionally
She never know to limit her limitations
And I knew that she is a born leader leading me forward
And now she wrote...
You've nothing to lose
Wipe your tears
And burn all that doesn't serve you
'Cause you're more than just you...
I can't help it. You're Amazing!
There is no reason to turn back
You just need to give yourself a chance and believe change.
I smiled through my tears
Counting my blessing I have in her
She is indeed powerful beyond measure
And my heart decided
One more step
Just one more...
For a little while longer
To fight the good odd fights
To survive and create myself endlessly
To let the bubbly Mommy she knew, come to life
The one all her friends admired
And said was "so cool"
That Mommy...
That super woman... My daughter's hero!
The lifeless challenge is no more!
The strange secret lies in creating joy
No One can see but you
Yes, no one can rejoice but you!
Now I ask myself to go on
And try...
To try,
To love myself!!!

You Know Nothing About

Dark origin behind the dawn of life
Dumb souls laugh far-off stream
A chip heavy on shoulders
Crash with thunder storm
Generous thoughts from heaven
Fall like cold dew in a pail
Walk with a profound heart miles and miles away
Thoughts prevail every time with no answer
Often lose action with single que, how absurd?
You get trapped in the same web as spiders do?
Then you’re off on the wrong foot
Just give a slip from yourself, long to soar up the sky
And fly as high as a kite, leaving the cruel world behind
Let others stroll and wade up to the shore
For you desire no more pleasure
The need for fresh air is all in demand
Is this how necessity became the mother of all?
You will hear people spin tall tale not one but many
The ridiculous cock and bull story from the attic with a cry
Keep your chin up and listen till the end
You can’t escape from loose cannons around
The world carries Hell in a hand basket
Every rose has its thorn; still the flower grows on pins
There will be horrid little lumps within but don't crush the bud When you know you’re barking up the wrong tree,
Float down the running stream to know your rope
stamp hard feet down and see you appear bold on them
Carry yourself safe in the dark-dark night
Bold sense of vision hidden from the bloody sight
An untimely resignation is traumatic, true!
But every cloud has a silver lining
Stumbling blocks or stepping stones throw possibilities open
It’s time to pull the plug and aim for the best of both worlds
You need an eagle's sight to fight against the feeding frenzy
In fact, there are no mistakes, only experiences
No problems only challenges, the ultimate spring of survival
One day, you will find your feet fixed on the right ground
Ready to explore the beauty of new space
Dare not give umpteen excuses or never justify wrong
Some are irreversible!
Life has been kind, sometimes harsh, but mostly fair.
But think positive! Is it that simple?
Do billion good thoughts mean billion actions?
So many questions but answers too
Now, you might doubt about fear and sorrow
But not about life, love and death!
Is this what we call mere symbolism of deeper reality?
You know nothing about...
But know that your Lord has got you where you’re now!
Will be taken there in your own time and reach that extra mile, Be you and teach to learn!
Count blessings no matter yours or mine!
Today, I stand to be a little more aware
My life is still trying to teach something that’s worth a try!
You know absolutely nothing at all...!

My Little Loyal Hands

Relationships are neither simple nor perfect
Ever-evolving responsibilities and a unique bond
A delicate poise connects love and emotions
Are invariably thick by any yardstick and gives a free hand
Suffer hardships as well as times of joy
And see the light at the end of the dark tunnel and realize
After all it is just the end of the lair not the world
Our battles are epic and one-sided
We were three with no leg to stand on
People stayed away in droves to add more power to elbows
My handsome, innocent boy and beautiful, gifted girl along.
The world would never dream half, they remain my hope ever.
Sometimes it's hard as a mother to accept
They took nothing except my love
I said my traits aren't the best at times to learn and take from
But they believe that they have it all from me
Had to go out on a limb to prove them right
They deserve abundance, I promise to give them all I can
Both happy moments and lessons of life
We hang out together at spicy snack corners and swing high on joy rides just to smile and live again in our own little world!
Knocked on wood and hid my tragic past
Kept in store to share when they grow big
I tried to inspire, impress and hid my true self at times
For them to watch me strong, brave and unbroken
Lived million odd lives in one
With firing sun and smiling moon
Ups and downs or twists and turns
Faced hard times forgiving people
Acceptance of loss and coping with that rout is terrible
I implant the seeds of wisdom in my little hearts
They wanted to be like me but I only have the best intentions
Wanting them not to experience my life
As love supports, holds and mends the broken hearts
It's just motherly love at all times.
They've faced many challenges though
Sometimes with only problems, no father, little to no money
Still the humans they've become are truly Amazing!
Mother's love for kids never runs out, became lonely together
Left behind the painful past memories and start anew
Went through times of grief and joy together as one!
They received my life with love and compassion
Recognized my past and loved me for what I am!
I would have never reached this far
If He had not poured unseen blessings upon!
I call for no vision to see Your immeasurable wonders
My Lord! For I know the battle is not mine but Yours
Every thing happens for a reason
He gave my kids as My little loyal hands forever!
God's mercy descends I know not from where
Now, they know that My face, my hope, my sorrows and joy
Are theirs as well!

I Am Never Alone

Oh Allah! I told You I'm in pain
You said: "do not despair of the mercy of Allah."
                                                        (Al-Quran 39:53)
I told You nobody knows what is in my heart
You said: "verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."
                                                        (Al-Quran 13:28)
I told You many people hurt me
You said: "so pardon them and ask forgiveness for them"
                                                         (Al-Quran 31:59)
I told You I feel I'm alone
You said: "we are closer to Him than (His) jugular vein"
                                                          (Al-Quran 50:16)
I told You my sins are so many
You said: "and who can forgive sins except Allah? "
                                                          (Al-Quran 31:35)
I told You do not leave me
You said: "so remember Me; I will remember You."
                                                          (Al-Quran 21:52)
I told You I'm facing a lot of difficulties in life
You said: "And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out."
                                                           (Al-Quran 65:02)
I told You Oh Lord! I need hope
You said: "Indeed, with hardship will be ease."
                                                           (Al-Quran 94:06)
I told You I have many dreams
You said: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."
                                                            (Al-Quran 40:60)
I told You to give me just a little but for sure, oh my Rabb!
You are the best, You gave me everything...

Alhamdulillah... and I know I'm never alone!

And now...
May I, Oh Allah, be among those who have succeeded!
                          Allahumma Aameen!!!

The Ever Rising Science Star

The brightest star so renowned,
Modern Cosmology well-governed!
The Universe was examined and Black Holes too
Brought General Relativity and Quantum Gravity intact!
Was he the one who diagnosed with dreadful ALS,
Transformed black holes from inexorable gravitational prisons?
“Lived decades longer than predicted” said the humankind
But his research turned him a celebrity in the science world!
Adversities struck down,Lost control over every muscle,
Communicated through tailored technology with a tussle!
Never gave into despair, stood with prudence,
Revamped older thoughts to open new horizons
Nonetheless,broadened hope for humanity.
As the youngest Fellow of Britain’s prestigious Royal Society
His passing left an intellectual vacuum,
A kind of a vacuum energy but not an empty home
The Rising Science Star at the age of thirty-two
His“A Brief History of Time” a lasting legacy
From Big Bang to Black Holes in space,
Became the Lover of “Doughnut-Shaped Universe”
Most scientists are not as famous as he,
Undoubtedly has lived more than one could ever be
He was one of four children to gifted parents
Born in Oxford,England and grew up in St. Albans
The eldest son of Frank and Isobel Hawking
With Mary, Philippa and Edward his siblings
His birth came at a difficult time for his parents,
But touched many lives today beyond his labs
When grew older, father said to pursue medical business
But his passion remained for ‘the sky’ and science!
‘An Exceptional student’?
Nay,was never called for brilliance though world renowned for his excellence!
Know he was at the bottom of his class at School but creative outside and cool
Constructed a computer out of recycled parts during teens
Solved rudimentary math equations with peers
Focus was least on Educational lines, graduated with honors in natural science
Attended Cambridge for a PhD but suspected subject irrelevance
May be that’s Stephen Hawking beyond excellence!
Encountered a big breakthrough, gained top honors, won Adams Prize at last
The pair teamed up and worked,Roger Penrose and Stephen Hawking!
The fate of stars and creation of Black Holes
Even the coveted “Albert Einstein Award” unfolds!
Mourning science world for the pioneer of modern Cosmology
An Inspiration and communicator of Science
Works and discoveries left legendary marks
“A Medical Marvel” as Rees exclaimed about his survival
Certainly his contributions will ever prevail with trail
He sadly left that science and the wider world behind
To feel poorer for his passing!

The Re-Sculpted Garden

Far from the surging crowd, the aesthetic mass ever loved
For,some fascinated to drilling mud, more satiated with coconut ground
Most elated admiring flowering buds, all hailed for herbs, spices,Salmon or squid
But there came the most tyrannous deluge with a thud!
Oh!They called it a massive flood!
Dragged the humans like Salmons through the gooey mud
Did we not think they were Dud?
Yes,the voiceless screams bellowed
Ah,we saw water beclouding their beloved!
Instantly shrugging very Life blood,
But sanguine from young and old deafeningly tongued
Loss of hope we knew that no Fund could ever mend
For what once they possessed were forever rubbed
Of course, for some time, they stood rapt and stunned
Soon, they plugged with humankind and together tugged
Ah,just cannot articulate in any word!
How they won over self-worth when life was succumbed!
No one ever knew whom they hugged
Like a feeble creeper gripped a pole to ascend
They confess that a shoulder is all they culled
Understand no race, religion or creed they nudged
Pride and discrimination is all they shoved
Loss of dear lives in silence, with not much shed of blood
Like the swarm of busy bees yet again buzzed
Churning the sweetest union in pain they resumed
Up upon the greatest height they hummed and trudged
Upholding the self-respect and dignity they drudged
Though economy deeply slacked and dulled
Still it hadn't let the brotherhood lulled
Who left the gold skin-pale,blue and numbed,
Where it neither bombed nor gunned?
Unvoiced but violent stream blocked the blood
Neither warning nor cue it summed
Many unfortunates went lifeless in silence and scrubbed
Disaster,destruction and catastrophe they drummed
Hands not but hearts they clubbed
Stood upright and upward they thumbed
Nobody knows whether it is fund or Superfund!
For sure it had some magic that sought no refund
Like water on the ink-script,though the lives were smudged
Determination and strong-will was never snubbed
Luckily neither dejection nor despondency bugged
Tears within their eyes, only the survival of folks they mulled
The world came in union from in and out together stood
Tears down their cheeks, just not survival but living they proclaimed
For a while the drumming nature’s tyranny was stubbed
That is why may be,the God’s Own Country we dubbed
Now,if there emerges another cascade with a thud!
They will call it no more a massive flood…
‘Cause, there came the most tyrannous deluge with a thud!
Oh!They already called it a massive flood!
LONG LIVE KERALA!

Book: Reflection on the Important Things
