Anthony Grider Poem
Locked behind the closet door. By Anthony Grider 2/3/2017
People wonder why I am the way I am.,
Sometimes life is a living hell.,
The pain of life can over wham.,
Mental scares no one can tell.
What have I done this time.,
Shouldn't the punishment fit the crime.
I won't spill the water any more.
O Daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.,
Curled up on the cold dark floor.
Shouldn't the punishment fit the crime.,
O Tell me what I've done this time.
O No I won't do it any more.,
O So daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.,
Curled up on the cold dark floor.,
O Please daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.
Even to this day, I'm scared of the dark around me.,
What I feel I can't say, from this fear I wish I could set my mind free.
Some days feels like my souls been ripped and torn.,
O Some days I wish I was never born.
What have I done this time, I won't do it anymore.
O So please daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.,
Curled up on the cold dark floor.,
O No I won't do it anymore.,
O Daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.
Shouldn't the punishment fit the crime.,
O Please tell me what I did this time.
O No I won't do it anymore.,
Just please daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.
Through life we don't know what to others we do.,
What kind of pain we cause over time.,
We can't see what people have went through.,
Because we pretend everything is just fine.
O The mental scares no one can tell.,
Don't judge before you know.,
O Sometimes life can be a living hell.,
They may not let the scares show.
O But tell me what I done this time, I won't do it anymore.
O Please daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.,
Curled up on the cold dark floor.,
O No I won't do it anymore.
O Shouldn't the punishment fit the crime.,
O Please tell me what I did this time.
O No I won't do it anymore.,
O So please daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.
O Curled up on the cold dark floor.,
O Please daddy don't lock me behind the closet door.

Anthony Grider Poem
While you judge me, God is watching you. By Anthony Grider 6/21/17
You try to hold me down by the things you say.,
O' You think you can hurt me.,
Trying to flip my blue skies gray.,
But your messing with a hornet's nest you better leave me be.,
Your so cold uncaring 20 below.,
You think you can hurt with things you say and do.
He knows what fruit you show.,
While you judge me, God is watching you.
O' But while you judge me, God is watching you.,
He can see and knows what you do.,
So while you judge me, God is watching you.,
He knows what you do.,
He knows what fruit you show.,
Not hate but love should grow.
O' God is watching you.
You think you stand for what is right.,
Placing labels on everyone but yourself.,
It's written what we are suppose to do, are you too blind to see.,
The weak and sick can't fight.,
Your light is suppose to be in a window not on a shelf.,
No one homeless, no one hungry is how it should be.
Rotten fruit will show.,
Not hate but love should grow.
I know someone who knows what you do.
O' Yeah while you judge me, God is watching you.,
He can see the fruit you show.,
He knows what you do.,
Not hate but love should grow.
So while you judge me, God is watching you.,
He knows what we do.,
O' God is watching you.
You want to look down on those different from you.,
We are all created by God so what gives you the right.,
One day we'll all stand in judgement for what we say and do.,
We can be lead by the blind or we can use our God given sight.
O' But the weak and sick can't fight.,
But how they are treated never leaves his sight.
O' for he knows what you do,.
He knows what fruit you show.,
If you judge me, God is watching you.,
Not hate but love should grow.
O' Yeah while you judge me, God is watching you.,
O' He knows what fruit you show.,
He knows what we do.,
Not hate but love should grow.
O' He knows what we all do.,
So while you judge mde, God is watching you.,
O' Watching you.

Anthony Grider Poem
Another tear in the wishing well. By Anthony Grider 8/6/1994
I went to the wishing well.,
Wishing you were here with me.,
Without you been a living hell.,
Broke heart no one can see.
O Throw in the penny, O waiting for you.,
Waiting for my wish to come true.
Shadered dreams O nothing happened when the penny fell.,
O Just another tear in the wishing well.
O tears in the wishing well.
My heart broken nothing else to tell.,
O Nothing happened when the penny fell.,
O just another tear in the wishing well.
O another tear in the wishing well.
Gota find a leprechaun.,
A magic spell.,
Gota find a magic wand.,
No luck at the wishing well.
Gota have another day with you.,
Gota find away for my wish to come true.
My heart was broken no one could tell.,
O When nothing happened when the penny fell.,
O Just another tear in the wishing well.
O tears in the wishing well.
Nothing happened when the penny fell.,
Broken hearted no one could tell.,
O Just another tear in the wishing well.
O tears in the wishing well.
When I lost you, O I lost my soul.,
What can I do, O to complete my goal.
Your death killed my deep within.,
O I come to this wishing well again and again.
Broken hearted no one could tell.,
O Nothing happened when the penny fell.,
O Just another tear in the wishing well.
O Tears in the wishing well.
O Nothing happened when the penny fell.,
So broken hearted no one could tell.,
O Just another tear in the wishing well.
O Tears in the wishing well.

Anthony Grider Poem
They try to silence me. By Anthony Grider 1/26/2017
They call me names.,
They say I shouldn't post this or that.,
They play their games.,
They call the lies fact.
Then they twist the facts into lies.,
They try to silence me.,
You can follow the stings and see the ties.,
I'm going to keep posting against the wrongs I see.
O They try to silence me.,
They don't want me to post this or that.,
They don't want me to be free.,
Want me to believe their lies are fact.
But I'm going to post against the wrongs I see.,
O Their not going to silence me.
Never going to silence me.
They want to build more pipelines, even after spill after spill.,
But we will protect our water and land and draw our lines.,
How much more do they want to kill.
They say we should be silent and not protest what's going on.,
But we have to before the world is gone.,
When they see our numbers then they know were strong.
I must post against the wrongs I see.,
But they try to silence me.
O They try to silence me.,
They say I shouldn't post this or that.,
But I'm going to post against the wrongs I see.,
I know their lies and won't believe there fact.
O They call me names.,
Trying to silence me.,
They play their games.,
But they won't stop me from being free.
O They try to silence me.,
But I'm going to post against the wrongs I see.,
No they won't silence me.,
I will be free.,
No they can't silence me.
Homeless people in the streets.,
Still children going hungry.,
How can we as a nation stand for this.,
O Can't believe the suffering I see.,
Who are we if we can't help those in need.,
Stand there in silence while others hurt.,
Hungry stomachs that we can not feed.,
Lessons I thought we've already learnt.
Yeah I'm going to post against the wrongs I see.,
No matter what they're not going to silence me.
O They try to silence me.,
Saying I shouldn't protest this or that.,
But I'm going to post against the wrongs I see.,
Trying to feed me their lies as fact.
O They try to silence me.,
They call me names.,
I'm not going to stop being free.,
O I'm not going to play their games.
O They try to silence me.,
But I won't stop posting against the wrongs I see.,
O They try to silence me.,
They can't stop me from being free.,
Never going to let them silence me.
O No never going to let them silence me.

Anthony Grider Poem
By Anthony Grider 6/23/17
I'm standing right here, why don't you see me.
I'm standing here with my help sign.,
Don't know where my next meal will come from.,
Poverty is made by design.,
I'm neither lazy nor am I dumb.
Just down on my luck.,
No one else knows more how much life can suck.
O' This ain't how I wanted my life to be.,
No one knows my story but me.
O' I'm standing right here, why don't you see me.,
O' Does anyone care, O' this ain't how I wanted my life to be.,
My life's up in the air, so to live I have to pay your fee.,
O' I'm standing right here, why can't you see me.,
Are you blind O' why can't you see me.
I'm standing here with brusies and a black eye.,
O' One too many broken bones.,
No one can here me cry.,
I was called dumb and worthless, thats how my story goes.
How can you have hope when your soul is so full of holes.,
When everything is taken, how can you have any goals.
I have a torn and broken soul O' how can this be.,
Hiding but wishing everyone could see.
O' I'm standing right here, why don't you see me.,
My life so full of fear, O' how can this be.,
O' Does anyone care, O' this ain't how I wanted my life to be.,
O' I'm standing right here, why can't you see me.,
Are you blind O' why can't you see me.
O' I'm standing here with my house gone and my family dead.,
Your bombs came from out of the sky.,
I'm going crazy losing my head.,
When I hear all these wars was start by a lie.
O' why did my family have to die.,
O' No one to hear me cry.
You should've left us be.,
All your wrongs one day I'll make you see.
O' I'm standing right here, why can't you see me.,
You send your bombs to make us fear, you should've left us be.,
O' All your sins and wrongs one day you'll see.,
O' I'm standing right here, why don't you see me.,
Are you blind O' why can't you see me.

Standing in life's quicksand. By Anthony Grider 6/20/17
In so much pain I'm in a living hell.,
No way to change the way things are.,
Seems like no one cares, O' well.,
No one can see my mental scares.
I reach out but no one to hold my hand.,
So much in my life I'm unable to mend.
O' Standing in life's quicksand.,
Not able to move.,
Things in my life I just can't mend.,
O' This I can't rise above.
O' I reach out but no one to hold my hand.,
O' Standing in life's quicksand.,
Sinking in life's quicksand.
This depression I just can't rise above.,
I just can't get over this huge wall.,
I feel so lost like I can't move.,
Hard to stand so easy to fall.
As I sink on down no one to see my hand.,
Sinking down in life's quicksand.,
So much that I'm unable to mend.
O' Standing in life's quicksand.,
O' I'm unable to move.,
Things in my life I just can't mend.,
O' How can I over come and rise above.,
When theres no one to hold my hand.,
Things I just can't mend.,
O' Standing in life's quicksand.,
O' Sinking down in life's quicksand.
They say get over it you have to be strong.,
That's easier said then done.,
It's hard when you feel all alone.,
All the problems in my head it's not fun.
O' no, no one to hold my hand.,
So much in my life I can't mend.,
Sinking in life's quicksand.
O' I'm standing in life's quicksand.,
No not able to move.,
So much in my life I can't mend.,
O' This I just can't rise above.
O' Standing in life's quicksand.,
O' No one to hold my hand.,
So much in my life I just can't mend.,
O' Standing in life's quicksand.,
O' Sinking down in life's quicksand.

New Poem
They say I don't belong.
By Anthony Grider
6/8/2018
When I was born,
I had no choice but who I am.,
Being so poor my soul torn,
Trying to find a better place then bam.,
As we cried they took us away.,
Where's our family they won't say.
They say I don't belong,
But God would tell them they are wrong.
O' They say we don't belong,
God made us all so they are wrong.
They say I don't belong,
But God would tell them they are wrong.
We had no choice of where were born,
Our lives were in danger do you care?,
All we had were what we had worn,
Sometimes life isn't always fair.
Now they've lock us away,
Where's our family they won't say.
They say I don't belong,
But God would tell them they are wrong.
Now all our hope is gone,
Oh they say we don't belong.
They say I don't belong,
God created us all so they are wrong.
Not knowing what's going to happen is the worst thing,
Being apart from your family brings on the worst pain.
We had no choice they took us away,
Took us from our family,
Where's our family they won't say,
We are hurting can't you see.
Oh They say I don't belong,
But God would tell them they are wrong.
We just wanted a safer place to live,
Thought this Christian nation would give.
But they say we don't belong,
On judgement day God will tell you you're wrong.

New Poem
I'm sorry for doing nothing.
By Anthony Grider
6/13/18
I heard the screams and cries.,
But I sat there doing nothing.,
Let me morals say it's goodbyes.,
The trouble it might bring not wanting.
If it didn't effect me I didn't care.,
The shame of letting it happen, I would wear.
O' I'm sorry for doing nothing.,
The shame of letting it happen, I would wear.,
O' the trouble it might bring not wanting.,
It wasn't effecting me I didn't care.
Not standing for what is right not trying.,
O' I'm sorry, O' I'm sorry for doing nothing.
Children crying locked in a cage.,
People being treated worse by the day.,
Where's our anger, where's our rage?,
Where's their family they won't say.
How can this happen, do you care?,
O' The shame this country will wear.
O' I'm sorry for doing nothing.,
For letting this happen the shame I will wear.,
The trouble it might bring not wanting.,
The thought of, if it's not me why should I care.
O' Not standing, not stopping, not trying.,
O' I'm sorry, so sorry for doing nothing.
Wars we'll always fight.,
Profits make the rich, richer by the day.,
As our young continues to die.,
As long as it's out of our sight.,
Over and over the poor has to pay.,
We do nothing but to listen to each lie.
As the country falls apart, do you care?,
O' So much shame this country will wear.
O' I'm sorry for doing nothing.,
How much shame will we all wear?,
Real changes is something we should be wanting.,
How can we sit back and not care?
O' I'm sorry, so sorry for doing nothing.,
We let it happen without trying.,
Why do we sit back and do nothing?!

Anthony Grider Poem
I see the light. By Anthony Grider 8/6/1994
What goes up must come down.,
Don't get your hopes up so high.,
Or you'll find yourself on the ground.,
Asking yourself why.
Sometimes it's hard to find your way.,
Always someone trying to tell you what to say.,
Trying to flip your blue skies to grey.
I find myself in the dark, but I can see the light.,
Trying to sleep but up all night.,
Blinded but trying to regain my sight.,
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.
Beaten down but I can still fight.,
O In the dark but I see the light, O I can see the light.
Saying grass is greener on the other side.,
You look in the mirror and you close your eyes.,
Always running what do you have to hide.,
Feel like your standing still while life passes you by.
People tear you down.,
Try to twist you up.,
Time to get off the ground.,
Time to stand up.
O I might be in the dark but I see the light.,
Trying to say I'm wrong but I know I'm right.
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.,
Been beaten down but I still can fight.,
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.,
Been blinded but have regain my sight.,
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.
O I see the light.
They say don't count your chickens before they hatch.,
It seems like nothing goes your way.,
Life's a fast ball you just can't catch.,
No sun but always a rainy day.
But you cant let it get you down.,
You've got to pick yourself off the ground.,
You've got to make it work your way.,
Who cares what anyone else has to say.
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.,
Been beaten down but I still can fight.,
O In the dark but I see the light.,
Been blinded but have regain my sight.,
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.
Time to get reading for the fight.,
Saying I'm wrong but I know I'm right.,
O Blinded but I've regain my sight.,
O I'm in the dark but I see the light.
O I see the light.

Anthony Grider Poem
Staring down a long road. By Anthony Grinder, on 1/22/2017
I'm in a hole I can't dig out.,
Fighting but I can't win.,
Won't do no good to scream and shout.,
What's the point of trying again.
Not knowing which way to go.,
So much pain only God knows.
I'm staring down a long road.,
Covered in pot holes of my past.,
Not knowing which way to go.,
Don't know if I can haul this load.,
Not knowing if this trip will be better then the last.,
Not fun facing this alone.
I'm staring down a long road, oh I'm staring down a long road.
Don't know how long I can haul this load. Oh staring down a long road.
I'm standing on the edge.,
My backs against a wall.,
Staring down the ledge.,
About to fall.
How can I dig out of this hole?,
How can I fight to win?,
In life I've lost my goal.,
For tomorrow another war begins.
I'm staring down a long road.,
Covered in the pot holes of my past.,
Not knowing which way to go.,
Don't know how long I can haul this load.,
Will this trip be better then the last?,
Not knowing what the future will show.
Oh I'm staring down a long road, oh staring down a long road.,
Oh covered in the pot holes of my past.,
Don't know how long I can haul this load.,
Don't know how long I can last.
Oh I'm staring down a long road, oh staring down a long road.,
Covered in the pot holes of my past.,
Don't know if I can haul this load.,
Hoping this trip will be better then the last.
I'm not as strong as I use to be.,
I find myself laying on my back.,
I pray to God to show me what I need to see.,
Why is my life always under attack.
I'm trying to hold it together and wait for you to show me.,
It's hard with such a heavy load.,
How can I be as strong as I need to be.,
As I stare down this long road.
Oh I'm staring down a long road.,
Covered in the pot holes of my past.,
Not knowing which way to go.,
Holding such a heavy load.,
Hoping this won't last.,
Waiting to see what God will show.
Oh I'm staring down a long road, oh staring down a long road.,
So covered with pot holes of my past.,
Not knowing which way to go.,
Trying to haul this load.,
Hoping this trip will be better then the last.,
Waiting to see what God will show.
Oh staring down a long road, oh staring down a long road.
