Flashback To Present

The continuous memories scattered inside my mind
All the laughter and loving scenes are left behind
Leaving a life of bad possibilities where I came from
Never getting a chance to show how I overcome

Although it was bad I left something more important
A mother’s smile a little brother and my childhood
The moments that made me hide and stay quiet
Never understood but always wished I could

I wished and watched my life past before my eyes
Hearing lonely nights of my father’s cries
All the women who watched and waited
For the chance their love’ll be overrated

The beating of your heart crashing your chest
Hope dad knows how much I tried
All the women in and out and never get the best
He tried to hide the feeling with lies

Flashback to the present to resist
pain and a missed checklist
A little girl who was 4 and now 14
Looking at the past to see what it means and what she missed

I’m sorry for not helping when I could
you say it’s not my fault but it should
The countless things that way tons and ounces
Becomes the burned wall that my life announces

My life in the present is a closed book of rejection and regret
I Work harder in the present than in the past,
without a chance to wipe off the sweat,
Without a chance to make the good memories last

All I’m told is to let it go and let the past be the past
But how am I supposed to forget so soon and so fast?
As much as I try I continue to flashback to those moments
Knowing that even if I do forget, my life won’t have enjoyment

I continue to flashback and come back to the present
There will be no change without consent

Tears

"Tears"
Flowing like a stream
Bursting like a waterfall
Falling like the rain
I cry of happiness,
I cry of pain

Tears are my weakness
It makes me feel small
When I know all, will be alright
My face feels hot, my tears cold
I still cry when I know the problem is old

Tears of a child, yearning for hope
Knowing, hoping, someone would be there
When her life's hanging from a rope
See differently in the eyes of another
My tears fall down like no other

Tears flooding my eyes
knowing I won’t be able to keep them dry
My tears would one day be drained, dried and dripped
My eyes aren’t looking for another trip to take a dip in despair
But to save my tears, for that day,
When someone would care

A World of Surrounding Water

A World of Surrounding Water
You’re hiding yourself in a cave,
Wondering if you should take a glimpse at the world
A cold body of water sitting still with no sign of life,
Surrounding you, keeping you from what’s on the outside

The radiant beams of sunlight shine into your once dark and lonely cave
The illumination of light gleams into the water
Leading way to a path in which you are to follow,

The glowing on the water leads way to a world,
A world of misunderstanding,
A world full of mistakes,
A world that’s worth forgiving,
A world that everyone takes for granted

A world for you to explore,
The body of water being what surrounds you in life
The sunlight is all the good twist and turns,
And that cave you hide yourself in is protection
from all the hurt, rejection, and negativity,
That everyone faces in the world,
A world of surrounding water

Forever Alive

Forever Alive

I’m keeping every memory in my head
No matter what I’ll keep it inside
Forever alive and never dead

All those pages I have read
And understood the life behind it
Forever alive and never dead

All the words you have said
I promise I won’t forget, it’ll stay
Forever alive and never dead

For all those things you said I did
And the actions I regretted are
Forever alive and never dead

There are many things that I did
That will stay with me
Forever alive and never dead

The many things you and I dread
That collapsed our will to live
It allowed us to rest our heads
Forever alive and never dead

Mirror Image

Mirror Image

I look in the mirror
I see a girl who tries hard to impress
Never reaches her destiny
Not proud of who she is

“Why can’t I look at her?” or
“I wish I had her hair, her smile, and her style
She hopes she’ll get out of this feeling
But she knows she won’t
That mirror image she see isn’t a pretty one
Everyday she gets brought down by her looks
“Yo, you see her shoes!?” or
“Where you get them clothes?”

She’s hurting inside
Her dad tells her she’s the most beautifullest thing
But she knows it’s only because I’m your daughter
She listens to songs that shows her pain
Is this healthy for her to do?
She doesn’t care, it makes her feel like she’s not the only one

That mirror image hopefully will get better
One day she’ll except her look,
But for right now she’s won’t
That girl she sees in the mirror will continue to be an ugly one

She always wonders why some people think this way about themselves
But as a girl who thinks that way
She understands fully
Her smile isn’t bright, her style is dull, and her face is still there
To bring her down
Everyday that mirror image gets foggy and fades away

'moms' and Dad

I seem to wonder what happened to the meaning of love
I thought that ring was for commitment and union,
That no matter what, you’ll stay side by side and fight together
I don’t think he understands this, but somehow I’m always in the mix,
This is the same routine that happens:

‘I love you’ she says, I love Her back
. . . . . . . . Never seen again
‘Stop getting into trouble’ she says, I cry
‘I’m sorry’ he says, I accept
‘Do you like her?’ he asks, ‘Sure’ I say
‘I love you’ she says, I laugh
‘I’m leaving’ she cries, ‘leave then’ he yells
‘It’ll be okay dad’ I say, ‘Thanks’ he smiles

I like to think that love dies quickly,
And is slow to come
One day you have it
and the next it's gone

Choose one, I think
Choose one and don’t let go
Don’t choose? Then be alone
One way or another her heart is gone
Don’t choose, then the pain is done

Mine is never seen again
All is his not mine
She loves me, I’m confused
He’s hurt, she’s amused
She(mine). . . . .is never seen again

Book: Reflection on the Important Things
