Diane Garcia Poem
Fruitcake
Familiar cake it be
For gift to bring to thee
Forlorn it sits at tea
For none will taste but me
Fear not my special treat
Forget what others eat
For me you’re noncompete!

Diane Garcia Poem
I thought he would be
A spirit of me
Beautiful son that I bore
How could I see
There would be no key
To unlock the steel trap door
I knew in my heart
He would never depart
From the love that he would send
You were wrong, says he
You are not like me
And my soul shall never mend
In hope now I pray
There will come a day
When my son will rise from the gray

Diane Garcia Poem
Velvet black abyss
Wrap her in your arms
Let the waters hiss
Raise not the bleak alarms
White caress bestow
Upon her fiery brow
Gentle ebb and flow
Release the evil vow
Fantasy it be
But that’s no never mind
Perhaps one day she’ll see
His heart was ever kind

Diane Garcia Poem
Surrounded in flowers
Alone with her dreams
She pretends not to notice
The old woman’s screams
Surrounded in flowers
Tended with love
She pretends not to notice
The rain from above
Surrounded in flowers
The colors so bright
She pretends not to notice
She gave up the light

Diane Garcia Poem
Oh, ye scallywags
Ye think ye have this maid?
Your charming boons
Shall make me swoon
And in your bed be laid?
No! No! You bucks
You rusty mucks!
Ne’r with the likes of thee
My precious gift
Shall not be riffed
Not even for a fee!
I’ll serve your ale
And hear your tale
But then begone with you
For in my heart
Deep in the dark
Lies love that once was true.
