This one was probably the most honest of the fruitcake poems. Forlorn it sits at tea was so cute. It is true. Not many people even gravitate toward it. And yet it stays such a strong tradition. The last part was very sweet to support your love for it! Congrats in my contest.

Great poem Diane am impressed you got the lines to rhyme that's far too much of a challenge!!! I'm not a great lover of what we call 'Christmas cake' i find it too rich the same as Christmas pudding! send my regards to Phillip:-) hugs Jan xx7
