Mobile

Life was simple and unrushed
There was a certain laze we had more time
Along came a device which took overnight
Our private time , deep into our lives
Denied the simpler pleasures of life
Make us enslaved day and night

The mobile was here, in the beginning without much scare
But then slowly with time
Internet and the apps to be online
Made us spend most of time
Staring at a screen with fingers typing blind

Business first prospered
Connecting with people became easier
Calling someone no matter what time
Cause it was a one to one direct line

Glancing your eyes to the mobile screen
Looking out for a led blinking or a ping
Curious to know what came in
Every one is to catch a glimpse
In middle of talking to someone
In middle of driving somewhere
In middle of eating sometimes
In middle of sleeping too at night
We get lured to see
Impatient has become the creed

Cringing our necks , bending it down
Fingers going mad typing all around
Eyesights getting poor reading in and out
We still indulge, ignore the signs

Its a fad to talk and walk
Crossing roads while you talk
Driving and bluetooth can’t miss any at all
Bikers risk everything to take the call

Your first love online
The romance blossoms in chatty nights
the pictures exchange all the time
argue, laugh or cry
emojis help you any time
Arguments and fights
Breakups and divorces even online
Sad songs to give you company
Facebooks likes and dislikes
Twitter away like a bird

We become slaves to the device
Feel abandoned if the network dies
Withdrawal symptoms when its taken away
Feel that you are cut away
that life is so quiet and boring
when the ring and ping of the mobile goes missing

No matter what you try
this device rules your life
learn to use it wise
children drift away too
each in their own digital space
simple pleasures of life
lost in this digital paradise.

Mobile is this a devil in disguise?

Second Haiku Attempt

Pond glistening like silver bowl
The Moon shows off its soothing glow
Clouds try to play a spoil sport

Clouded Minds

Clouded is our minds.
In this chaos that goes worldwide.
No human is spared, Children too are nowadays scared
Pure childhood fun not to be seen,
Rock heavy schoolbags, Options to select, choices to reject!
Schools nowadays - the burdens and tuitions they bring,
The parents graduate again too with the kids !
College which one, where to go,
Even selecting your bf/gf is quite a chore.
Nothings seems simple anymore
Life no longer seems to be on your side,
when clouded are our minds.

The gods above are also entwined,
Their problems now are now ten fold not twice or thrice,
from this human race that seeks every time the divine,
for each and every new problem
which the gods cant seem to keep up with or classify!

How easy going life was, a few years on the rewind,
When career and a decent house were a bit easier to find.
When a square feet of home was affordable,
now its piegon holes if they are to be defined.
Sometimes you wonder who brought about this situation,
Is it self made or just because of our aspirations?
Is this race responsible for this condition,
Where all we do is seek and collect
More than basic need, more that we later regret?
Of simple things we left behind In this clouded state of our minds.

The winter breeze -soothing and cool
Rare as this one is, but its here for sure
Wish it can play a magic or two
Clear the clouds in people's minds
Make them relaxed and make them smile
Slow down the rush, the daily grind,
Bring some happiness for these worried minds.
But alas, the mad race intensifies,
No respite for human kind !
I think we have made it a part of our lives,
that its ok... if we have clouded minds.

Rain

As I look out my window,
I see a sudden smile on people's faces walking by,
Some more energy in their strides,
The anger and irritation meters are down
That happens when the rains comes around.

The clouds are flowering all over the sky,
The koyal bird is chirping away in delight,
The green colour is growing brighter in daylight,
The fragrance of the moist earth prevails.
The rains are here !
Water supply problems start to disappear
Leakage in some houses may start to reappear
The potholes get a new life,
Traffic jams time to time
The rains are here !

Wish life was also so easier
that a swish of rain would make things simpler.
Maybe wash away some stress, which seems so near
every time we try and steer to stay clear
of the mad rush and the greed
that defines this creed.

Wish the shade the dark clouds provide
The gentle cool wind that rains revive,
could reduce a little bit of anguish and ease some minds.
And do this trick every time.

As hard as we might try
the holes we dig ,get bigger each time
We still move on, with our daily grinds
and don't turn back to see what we left behind.

The earth enjoys the rain still so much,
Than us who tread the road taken before
Still run around wanting more and more
the rains are here, the rains are here
but alas our souls
they are beyond repairs !

Manic Monday

As the Sunday sun sets away
With it the rare peace and your funday
Brings to fore the manic monday

Ditching all the pleasures that the weekend brought
When clear was the mind with little thoughts
Relaxing with a cup of favourite beverage
Reading the newspaper entire coverage
Catching a good movie or good friends
Or just lying lazing in your bed
With your favourite book
Binging on your choicest food
Getting into your best mood
The smiles return since there is no work
these are some of few weekend perks

From the time the sun rises
to the time the moon comes in
Its a race against time
On the first day of the week.
Some revel the start of the week
and make others wonder
Are these people for real?

Others start feeling weak
Drained before the day begins.
Some like to make just more money
Some just have to make their ends meet.
The mad honking by the vehicles begins
perhaps a sign of the everyones mind
anxious to reach somewhere in time
The smiles of the weekend disappear
a lot of fret and frown appear
Tensed foreheads you cross so many
Packed trains and buses oveflowing already
Face the boss with a fake smile
Hoping they goes easy for the week ahead in time
The to do list never ending
The emails in inbox overflowing and pending
The calls that hound throughout the day
The peace it vanishes found nowhere
The wait for the evening to arrive
To end the misery of the day gone by
The money machine chugs along
Grinding everyone in its path
Forgetting quickly the hours spent
on the weekends that are also getting rare.

So make the most of the hours you get
to charge up the batteries for the battle ahead
Thats how the system has been made
Makes you slog every time a little more
Simple pleasures go out the door
Makes one wonder about our lives
Are we living for ourselves
Or by what the world defines

These are the thoughts the mind garners
When the manic monday is just around the corner.

Up In the Sky

Up ..in the sky
On this man made bird I fly
Away from the streets of chaos
To the clouds white , fluffy and sublime.

Flying to a city miles away
On the other side of the globe
Different from the home you know
Anticipations are galore

One sees around the faces that are bound
Some to meet dear ones
Some to a greener pasture found
Some too old that suffer the journey
Some so young that that they cry plenty

The long flight hours
Evoke thoughts like flowers
Of what has been achieved
And what lies ahead
In the path you chose
In the life you own

Faces that on ground are always tense
Seem relaxed and smiling which is rare
Almost like a pause in between
The maze of tensions our lives constantly breed

The stillness of the flight
Does relax ones mind
Wish one could
Do this more
On the ground on what we call home

Cause as soon as one lands
You can see the restlessness back
To grab your bags
To hail the cab
To rush to office
To make some more profit
To buy something more
To make calls galore
To worry and get bored
To be loved or ignored
To be healthy or sick
To be poor or rich
To be irritated or upset
To be wanting ...that never ever ends

No doubt though it may be a few
The hours in the clouds
Were so calm and cool
It does give one a good insight
To where one stands in ones life
Thoughts in a place that gravity defies
High ...up ...up in the sky.

What Is Love

When was the last time your heart really fluttered
When did you feel so many butterflies in your stomach
When did the heart pulse raced in anticipation
When you heard that voice or saw that smile
When was the touch oh so magical
When was the kiss so divine
When was it so warm to get a hug
When did you feel liberated from the soul
When did you hate the daily grind and its toll
When your defenses went down you came undone
When sleepless nights made you smile
When there is a new meaning to life
When you appreciate more the nature around
When the song on the radio you feel is yours
When your friends feel you are a different person
When you behave more soft and tender
When the heart always dictates the mind
When someone else's pain is yours
When someones else's tear makes you cry
When your eyes just don't see but start to talk
When the lips oh they long to touch
When the hours spent together are never enough
When the goodbyes are always so tough
When every call is anticipated
When every ping of a message is awaited
When the rains become so romantic
When a cup of coffee together is soul warming
When sleeping in the lap is like a cradle
When holding hands is ethereal
When heaven feels right here on earth
When you are on cloud nine even while walking
When day dreaming comes knocking
When you feel lost when others are talking
When someone far away seems so near
When the moonlights cools your thoughts
When the sunset warms your heart
...Its LOVE that brings the above and more

Perfect Sleep

The perfect sleep a human can ever get....
Shuts away the maddening crowd,
The dust, the noise that pulls you down.
No more to worry what you need to save,
To plan a future and keep it that way.
The worries and tensions that ever persist,
Vanish so quickly, the body at ease.

The dreams it brings are oh so perfect !
They go on and on, no fear that they would disappear.
The mind so still, no longer insists,
to think about tomorrow , misery and sorrows.

They all get left behind, behind those peaceful closed eyes.
No wonder something this good and everlasting
Comes just once in your life.
Death... the perfect sleep any human can get.

The Quest Unknown

The quest unknown
grows more and more
with every passing year
it seems to hurt even more
of why are we here
to what and why we adhere
is this what we really need
the daily pangs to fulfil our needs
to do just deeds to make ends meet
or are we here for a great cause
the one we really havent yet crossed
the relationships , the families do they help
or stop you from finding your true self
sometimes it feels for what is this
that we break our heads and bones full week
is it just paper money and its rewards
or is what we seek still a unknown cause
the emptiness remains still inside
the restlessness in our minds
to what is that we really need to do
on this earth and all its man made rules
sometimes it takes your whole life to figure out
some are lucky to figure it out
but whatever the answer is to this riddle
you and I we continue to fiddle
with our lives day in and day out
thinking thats the best we can give out
hope the answer comes to you and me fast
and brings with it some peace and some calm.
