Up In the Sky

Up ..in the sky
On this man made bird I fly
Away from the streets of chaos
To the clouds white , fluffy and sublime.

Flying to a city miles away
On the other side of the globe
Different from the home you know
Anticipations are galore

One sees around the faces that are bound
Some to meet dear ones
Some to a greener pasture found
Some too old that suffer the journey
Some so young that that they cry plenty

The long flight hours
Evoke thoughts like flowers
Of what has been achieved
And what lies ahead
In the path you chose
In the life you own

Faces that on ground are always tense
Seem relaxed and smiling which is rare
Almost like a pause in between
The maze of tensions our lives constantly breed

The stillness of the flight
Does relax ones mind
Wish one could
Do this more
On the ground on what we call home

Cause as soon as one lands
You can see the restlessness back
To grab your bags
To hail the cab
To rush to office
To make some more profit
To buy something more
To make calls galore
To worry and get bored
To be loved or ignored
To be healthy or sick
To be poor or rich
To be irritated or upset
To be wanting ...that never ever ends

No doubt though it may be a few
The hours in the clouds
Were so calm and cool
It does give one a good insight
To where one stands in ones life
Thoughts in a place that gravity defies
High ...up ...up in the sky.

Vivek, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@", -fa

Thanks for the warm welcome Linda. Will definitely read yours, my poetic skills I personally feel are zero..lol, i write poems within 15-30 mins maximum and most of them are quite mostly what i feel about life and things one see's around, hopefully over time the topics might diversify but frankly im happy if the poem comes out as quick as they do.
