Kyle Boyce Poem
I dipped my toes into the water
Warning me not to was my father
He said the water was home
Home to a monster to whom the sea was his throne
Then my toe felt something course
Rush over my skin like a horse
By then it was too late
My body, I fear, had been ate
And so from only the shallows
My soul had entered that gallows

Kyle Boyce Poem
I'm back to the streets I own
Back to the places I know
I'm back to the school where I learned
I learned to make a plant grow
Grow, grow that's what I did
Now an adult that started from a kid
I'm back to the city where I was born and bred
I'm back to the city my ambitions were fed
Back to the place I spread
Spread, spread joy throughout the bay
Back in the city where I plan to stay

Kyle Boyce Poem
If only you could see inside me
Then you would have the key
The key to unlock my thoughts
To prove I'm not one of many robots
That I have emotions and feelings
Feelings that have been hurt from my dealings
Dealings with you
Dealings that said we're through
But I keep dreaming on
That it's not the end but the dawn
So there you have the key
The key to unlock my inner mystery

Kyle Boyce Poem
If only you had worked yesterday
Then, today you could play
It's not that you don't want to win
It's that the sweat has not fallen from your skin
Today, I am successful
Today, you are stressful
Because yesterday I worked
Now, failure lurks
Over the heads of the lazy
And though their future is hazy
My future is bright
And in the thought my future I get to delight
