Francis J Grasso Poem
I will love you like tomorrow
Like the days that come to me
Like the warmth of summer sunshine
Like a wind that blows me free
To hear the song of nightingales
Beneath a crescent moon
To share each simple pleasure
On a rainy afternoon
In the silence of a morning
Deep within a restless sea
Walking through the darkness
And with everything in me
For every precious moment
That lives in effigy
Love will grow within my soul
To reach eternity
And when we gather moonbeams
After twilight steals the hours
Sleep with me through endless days
Among a sea of midnight flowers

Francis J Grasso Poem
How gently darkness lays itself upon the restless sea
While breezes scented cool and clean, are blowing wild and free
When moonlight's blush fades gradually and hides its ash white face
A thousand candles dimly lit, now frame the soft embrace
All through the night, with spirits bright as shameless dreams unfold
'till sunlight makes the darkness break to show the story told
Tempest waters calm and smooth, stillness now the sea
Sky and water, bound in love... as lovers, you and me

Francis J Grasso Poem
The calm that comes with morning light.
Lying here... from an untroubled night.
Alone, awake after restful sleep.
No tears left, no tears to weep.
Dreaming where dreams were never seen.
Free from all that might have been.
By myself with a pristine heart,
to begin again; a brand new start.
No more fear as I arise.
No sadness here to burn my eyes.
Only peace to guide my way.
No more guilt to mar the day.
My spirit rises in the sun,
as life again has just begun.

Francis J Grasso Poem
Leave me alone you beautified 6itch ;
Oh ghastly and ghoulish playpen of a witch.
Vases of roses are covering your deeds;
Eloquent verses describe your sick needs.
Many come calling but none ever leave;
Even my dumb heart now wants a reprieve.

Francis J Grasso Poem
willows weeping
white doves wail
wild wind blowing
black clouds sail
broken dreams
torn and tattered
tomorrows hopes now
trashed and shattered
dying love
don't give up
pray to god
and be tough

Francis J Grasso Poem
Sitting in the stillness
Of early morning light
Freed again from darkness
That bleeds on through the night
Leaves from summer rustling
As soft gentle breezes blow
Colored by cool autumn nights
As stately trees prepare for snow
Soft music fills the silence
That begins a brand new day
Sung by a warbling wanderer
Who chooses to waylay
The many days that ended
With their burden overdue
Are forgotten in this moment
As you try to start anew
Selfish dreams of secret passions
Born of restless sleep
Hide the emptiness and sorrow
And the reasons why you weep
As the quiet desperation
Slowly drains from every pore
You lift a troubled conscience
That lay crumpled on the floor
Peace floods your weary spirit
As your heart and soul agree
When yesterday and tomorrow
Strive to live in harmony

Francis J Grasso Poem
Pineapple pizza with pink pepperoni,
Buffalo wings and brown guacamole,
Little dead fishes in sour cream sauces,
Onions and garlic and greasy red sausage.
Cucumber sandwiches plastered with mustard,
Lemons and limes in a yucky green custard,
Fat happy chickens less all of their feathers,
Tomatoes, potatoes, my mother's hot peppers...
These are a few of my flavorless things!

Francis J Grasso Poem
“Is you a girl or is you a boy”, she said to him one day.
“Come over here an' stay wit' me,” he said, “You'll find out when we play!”
“No I will not play wit' you, I do not play wit' boys.
I do not like 'deir dirty face, I do not like 'deir toys!”
“I have no toys as you kin' see, my face is fresh and clean.
Come over here an' play wit' me, try not to be so mean.”
“I am not mean I'm cautious of you looking for your kicks.
I know you boys wit' out no toys make gurls do naughty tricks!”
“But wait, I do have toys,” he yelled as she turned to walk away.
“My toys are in my pocket, come here so we kin' play.”
“Your pockets are all empty, as I kin' plainly see.
So keep your fat mout' shut and 'dem big eyes offa' me!”
“Wait, wait, wait please play wit' me, we'll have a lot a fun.
I got a bat an ball wit' me, why do you have to run!”
“'Dat bat ain't made to hit 'dat ball, you can't play no game with 'dose.
Besides I'm not suppose ta' have no fun, I'll ruin my new clothes.”
“I wanna' be your friend ya' know, let's just sit an' talk.
Here put 'dis flower in your hair an maybe we kin' walk.”
“I'll take dat' walk if we just talk an' you look straight ahead,
An' if you try to play wit' me I'll bust you in yer' head.”
“Here have another flower, maybe 'dat will make you grin,
walkin' in da' moonlight, it ain't no kinda' sin.”
“I is afraid of moonlight, could ya' please hold my tremblin' hand.
Just be sure to keep in mind I ain't yer' promise land.”
“Your hand feels soft an' warm to me, it feels so heavenly.
I wish 'dat we could sit and talk, beneath 'dat chestnut tree.”
“'Dat tree is full of spiny nuts, the ground is covered wit' dew.
If we sit 'dare I'll pinch my buns and ruin my tutu.”
“'Dat tutu is such a little thing, here put it in my sack,
I got a big ole' blanket in 'dare, let's spread it out and yak.”
“Okay, but please remember I'm just a innocent tease,
I do not know about 'dose birds, I never seen no bees.”
“Thank you for remindin' me, I knew 'dat from the start.
I only wanted you to see my tacky wacky heart.”
“I'm really likin' you boyfriend, I'll stay wit' you a while,
Mom an' dad won't ever know, so now jus' make me smile.”

Francis J Grasso Poem
Autumn leaves are falling
There is sadness in my heart
Red passions, golden memories
Have gathered to depart
The chilling winds of winter
Blow across a barren field
Stripped of all its splendor
Of the beauty once revealed
Flowers painted yellow
Blossoms pink and white
Just dust between the furrows
In the slowly dimming light
Free to sail the heavens
No longer bound with slings
Black bird into emptiness
I soar on broken wings

Francis J Grasso Poem
I'm tired of you ladies, up in my face!
Screaming for justice, it's such a disgrace!
You whine then you wiggle,
You wag and you wail,
I think any day now you'll put me in jail!
Is there anything less than a groveling fool,
That can keep you contented, keep you just cool?
I've worked every day,
No, really I did!
And now I'm a piker, a user, a kid!
Do the wheels on you auto go left and go right?
Do you see in the evening with magical light?
The gold in your earrings,
The gems on your hands,
I dug them for you, my beautiful friends!
With sweat on my brow
And pain in my back,
My deeds have been righteous.
Damn;
Why do you attack!
Someday you'll wise up and see with an eye
That will not judge fellas and make us all cry!
Your blessings are many,
Your gifts are sublime,
So now can we cuddle, I brought you some wine.
