Untitled

I cannot get you off my mind,
along with how much I want to die.

It's a Lie

His eyes dilated and
I saw beads of sweat gather
on the tip of his nose.
His jawline was clenched
and his fingers were fidgeting.
Did I say something wrong?
What have I done?
I love this man.
With one swing I was floating,
my back greeted the floor.
I smelt the rubber of his shoe.
as it met my jaw, and I felt it,
as it blacked my stomach.
Did I say something wrong?
What have I done?
I love this man but,
it’s a lie. He will do it again.

My Sister

When rain falls from the
Silver clouds, and my smile
Fades away; you run to me,
With open arms, like a hero
To save the day. With your wisdom
And humor, my smile reappears,
My heart finally has a reason to beat.
Wherever you are, you give me
Your hand, and hold it as long as I need.
When we are together, we are one mind,
Happier than most you will see.
There’s no stronger bond, than the one
we have built, forever I’ll be by your side.
If my life were an unfinished puzzle,
You’d be the piece to complete it.

I'M Not Afraid

My life you may not understand,
as far as you know it is a wonderland.
There is an immense sadness that lives inside me,
but it does not define who I may be.

Most times I lay awake till sunrise,
the way I’ve been living has made me wise.
I may live in fear everyday,
but that does not mean I won’t be okay.

Although sometimes I don’t want to be alive,
that doesn’t mean I will never strive.
I can still slightly envision a future for me,
even though my sadness is at this degree.

Do not tell me to look on the brightside,
with no experience to provide.
Saying this will make me mad,
for I am not afraid to be sad.

Do not tell me it will all be okay,
because it may not turn out that way.
Even though tears may fall down my cheek,
I will never surrender to being weak.

Do not get me wrong,
it is hard to be strong.
The sadness that may hide my grin,
I will never let it win.

Love

Love is patient,
Love is kind.
Love seems to be
a waste of my time.

My Favorite Weather

His eyes are not the same anymore
Certainly not like they were before.
His edges weren’t usually this course,
Now he’s armed with no remorse.

But when the sun stepped down to give moon glory,
I saw him standing in such purgatory.
I saw cracks in his armor and under the surface.
He looked up at me, hurting and wordless.

The moonlight kissed our disguises,
that were not even the right sizes.
Something triggered the world that he kept inside,
His alluring words came out in one stride.

He let down the walls he was hidden in,
And Lord, they were nowhere close to thin.
He tapped into places deep in his heart,
he grabbed his life and tore it apart.

He cut his veins deep and wide
To show me what was inside.
I saw the pain right in his eyes
It’s not something he can easily disguise.

He poured just like a tornado,
He had hints of forming a rainbow.
His eyes didn’t have the same pleasure,
but he was now my favorite type of weather.

Give Me Love

I know it’s not smart
to be in love with me.
But please, oh please,
don’t leave me be.
Stay for just
one second more.
I want to be the one
that you adore.
The absence of your
laugh from my life,
makes me feel
empty inside.
Give me your love,
if just for tonight.
I promise to give
you all my affection
in return for your
heartbeat and protection.

He

The way that he spoke was no longer nice,
He used to treat me different than others.
Now I see what people are saying,
When they say who he really was. Maybe
I should have seen that when he left, when
He blocked me, when he forgot me.
He is heartless, he is selfish, he is dangerous.
He is not who my heart desires anymore.

Happy

The taste made my tongue curl,
My throat ache,
And my body shiver.
But when my eyes shifted from
Wall to wall, heavy and slow,
I felt a rare smile start to form.
I felt my chest become light, and
free from desperation and woe.
Despite how muddy my liver was
becoming, and no matter whose name
my mind had already lost,
my mouth was watering for more.
With poison in masses so vast, that
I feel it in my soul, is the only time
I feel at peace. It’s the only time I feel
happy.

In a Perfect World

In a perfect world, no one would be depressed
hopeless, or opressed.
People could just be who they are,
without others thinking they are bizarre.
I could walk down the street without being afraid
of a man coming at me with a switchblade.
A person of color could walk in a store
without being scared of being shot dead on the floor.
Respect would be spread, and happiness too,
loving yourself would be easy to do.
People would be kind and outspoken
In a perfect world no one is heartbroken.
