Happy

The taste made my tongue curl, My throat ache, And my body shiver. But when my eyes shifted from Wall to wall, heavy and slow, I felt a rare smile start to form. I felt my chest become light, and free from desperation and woe. Despite how muddy my liver was becoming, and no matter whose name my mind had already lost, my mouth was watering for more. With poison in masses so vast, that I feel it in my soul, is the only time I feel at peace. It’s the only time I feel happy.

Hi, Happy! I like the body of your poem and the poetry you are, whose name I keep hidden in my palm, like keeping a sparrow I let fly a second after I watch again in your eyes.
