It's a Lie
His eyes dilated and
I saw beads of sweat gather
on the tip of his nose.
His jawline was clenched
and his fingers were fidgeting.
Did I say something wrong?
What have I done?
I love this man.
With one swing I was floating,
my back greeted the floor.
I smelt the rubber of his shoe.
as it met my jaw, and I felt it,
as it blacked my stomach.
Did I say something wrong?
What have I done?
I love this man but,
it’s a lie. He will do it again.
