Grandmother

Time has turned her hair into gray
Hardships of life her wrinkles do say.

Hands that cooked for hundreds are frail
Feet that seldom rested now ail.

Age has deprived her sharp eyesight
Recurring seasons have altered her plight.

Yet she continues to mature and blossom
That’s why we rely on her words of wisdom.

Senility has languished her body and face
But granny has aged with admirable grace.

Her Smile

When she dozed in crib and dreamt divine
How soothing was her angelic smile.

When she trotted around with dad’s shoes on
How priceless was her cherubic smile.

When her pigtails bounced as she hopped
How girlish was her giggling smile.

When she spoke to a cute handsome guy
How impish was her flirty smile.

When she felt fulfilled on donating blood
How compassionate was her innocent smile.

When she conquered her woes with her grin
How triumphant was her charming smile.

She bloomed gracefully smiling until
The rapist forever crippled her smile.

Until You Walked Into My Life

Did I ever imagine before
How genuinely my heart could flee
Until you set it free.

Did I ever foresee then
How incomplete I would be
Until togetherness allured me.

Did I ever discern in mind
How absolute love could be
Until it was meaningful to me.

Did I ever fancy in dreams
How a special someone could be
Until you walked into my life.

Time

With the darkest nights
And the infinite days,
With the myriad seasons
Unceasingly she flows
At her own divine pace.

With our forefathers in past
And us at present,
With the generations in future
Unceasingly she strides
At her own divine pace.

Seconds spun into minutes
And yarns of hours and days,
And then years, decades and centuries
Unceasingly she weaves
At her own divine pace.

From eternity she emerged
And will travel immortally,
Waiting for none
Unceasingly she ticks
At her own divine pace.
