Two Boxes

Jehovah gave me two boxes to keep
One box was black the other was gold
In the black box, put the tears that you weep
Put your sorrows inside for it to hold.
The gold box is for all the joys you reap
My joys increased, blessings were manifold
The little black box felt as light as air.
Surprise, surprise, my sorrows were not there.

Jehovah, where did all my sadness go?
My dearest child, they are all here with me
Storehouses will open blessings will flow
Always trust in me, was his fervent plea.
I’ll carry your burdens, give me your woes.
My care will never fail; it is the key.
The meaning of the boxes is sublime.
Jehovah’s wisdom and justice are prime.

We have an excellent helper and friend.
We have nothing to fear, he’s always near
Our heavenly Father will help us mend
If we listen, then do our best to hear
Hearing means doing what he recommends.
He guides our steps. Makes the road smooth and clear
Because of him, our lives are desirable.
These truths I sang complete this parable.

Kenn Nesbitt

Introducing Kenn Nesbitt, my choice for funny poet
Producing giggle poetry kids appreciate
Inducing guffaws that infect others with laughter
Sluicing silly nonsense on subjects kids can relate

Exciting themes on homework and animals Kenn writes.
Inciting worldwide laughs, in all this absurdity
Highlighting the imagination of any child
Inviting you to share this world of frivolity

Battle of the Bulge

I am locked in armed combat,
Fighting against my body fat.
I continue to take aim,
Against my abundant frame.

Jogging up and down a hill
Exhausted from my treadmill.
These can not alleviate,
My BMI or obese weight.

My chances of becoming slim
Are looking very grim.
If I don’t shrink my derriere,
It soon won’t fit in any chair.

Am I a porky pig,
because my bones are big?
My stomach is a bottomless pit.
Is that why my clothes don’t fit?

I can’t seem to lose this weight.
My girth is great, it won’t deflate
I am a mess and so depressed,
I need ice cream to get de-stressed.

My Journey

I am often called a perfectionist,
I expect correctness in all I do,
High standards make me a precisionist,
This assessment is exact, fair, and true:
I will accept only the very best,
I am a stickler for accuracy,
Some will insist this is a futile quest,
Some will declare this is a fallacy:
We’re imperfect humans--- we’ll always fail,
You’re expecting way too much from us,
You set an impossible scale, they wail,
Your expectations are ridiculous:
Your protests and complaints are all for nought,
It is MY PERFECTIONISM that is sought.

"Perfection is not obtainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence."
These words of Vince Lombard inspire me and they accurately reflect the sentiments in my heart.

My Log Cabin Home

A cabin by the lake would be a dream come true.
Large picture windows would bring nature into view.
I will sit outside on a porch that wraps around,
Surrounded by a serene mountain lake, playground.

Skylights will allow me to see God’s creations.
I’ll enjoy wondrous tranquil accommodations.
Imagine deer grazing peacefully in the yard.
My pristine lake is stunning beauty that’s unmarred.

My log cabin is built with resilient white oak.
Each day I’ll commune with all the animal folk.
I’ll thank Jehovah for the blessings he gives me.
Soon this dream of mine will be a reality.

Songs of Power Wind of Change

Scorpion composed an epic song,
about the changes soon to be.
Thoughts and feelings that were once diverse,
Separations lasting years too long
caused global suffering to prolong.
Dividing friends and family;
Strained relationships were getting worse.
Voices joined together and grew strong.
Demanding an end to what was wrong.
At Gorky Park the world would see.
Differences would soon reverse.
A change of heart embraced the throng.
Would all these values remain lifelong?
Injustice ends jubilantly.
The seeds of tyranny will disperse.
The winds of change become the song.

I am not sure what to do about classifying my poem. This poem is called La'Tuin. It was created by Laura Lamarca. It consists of 4 stanzas with a ABCA rhyme pattern. The syllable is specific 9/8/9/8. If I am doing this wromg please advice me.

If

If I could amend
If I could transcend

a new life I'd begin
I'd be the mother I should have been

If I could alleviate
If words could ameliorate

the discouragement you feel
You'd always hear words of comfort that heal

If abuse were stopped
If its affects were lopped

I would shout out loud
"This devastation is not allowed"

If sickness we could terminate
If death we could eliminate

We would see no more tears
We would hear happy cheers

If... does not depend on me or you
All these wrongs... Jehovah will undo

Its not a matter of if---but when
Trust in Jehovah with all your heart---until then
