Closet Song

It calls to me,
From the darkness,
It sings,
Ever so sweetly,
A finger beckons,
Bloody and scarred,
I can feel the terror,
Clutching at my heart,
The whispers,
The hinge squeaking,
The door softly creaking,
The covers are over my head,
My throat locked in dread,
The closet inhabited by the dead,
Calling, singing,
The crack widening,
As I begin screaming.

A Lover's Heart

I want to feel the rush,
Of falling in love again,
Getting to know your quirks,
Feeling my heart quiver,
When your hand accidentally brushes mine,
Talking for hours on end,
Laughing needlessly into the night,
But we have long passed those times,
For years now I have known you,
Awoke to your gentle face,
For years we have been happy,
Angry, brokenhearted,
Not at all like when we started,
For I know too much,
Know the rhythm of your touch,
Know your laugh,
Your dreams,
Your desires,
But what I want,
Is for you to set my heart on fire,
For the flame has long since dulled,
The spark is catching nothing,
Except a barren mold,
But yet,
I couldn't trade it for anyone else,
In this entire world.

This is how I feel tonight. Does that even make sense?

Myself

You ask me to look inside myself,
To see beyond me,
And welcome something else,
But if I were to truly look deep,
There are dark things,
That creep,
And crawl,
Tormented and demented,
They snarl,
Because within me,
Is the monster I choose not to be,
An arrogance and malevolence,
I shall never set free,
They rattle at their cages,
Screaming unabashedly for ages,
If I were a book,
There'd be burnt pages,
And molded words,
Of screams unheard,
So I have to ask,
Do you really want to hear my words?

Lover

Do you ever realize,
the lovely depth in your eyes?
 Captivating, enrapturing my soul,
 with each moment we hold,
 fast, dear, endlessly,
breathtaking is my feeling for you,
along with every second I cling to,
 and each kiss, each hug,
I can only feel the effortless love.

From the Dark

Can't you feel it?
The darkness,
It lurks there,
Smiling at you,
With darkened eyes,
And gleaming teeth,
No longer just a dream,
Or so it seems,
Is it really there?
Waiting for you to be careless,
To not check the closet,
Or under your bed,
It waits,
Solely for you,
Smile love,
All is not lost,
Unless you try to run,
Then you'll pay the highest cost,
For it waits,
Staring from the dark.

Memory

Memories haunt me,
Lurking, taunting,
Tainting each and every day,
Flashbacks,
Of not being good enough,
Forever wrong, unwanted,
Being pummeled, choked, threatened,
Cursed at,
And myself crying in the dark,
Ever since I was young,
I have had a broken heart,
Because it was my own blood,
Who constantly tore me apart,
Due to alcohol, anger, and insanity,
I will never truly like me.

Creep

Your heart is pounding,
You can hear the whispers,
Closing in,
Soft footsteps follow your every turn,
You beg yourself,
Don't run,
A soft slithering,
An eerie creaking,
Something is in the dark creeping,
Your breath quickens,
Your pace ever faster,
But the monster,
Slides quietly after,
You break into a run,
Terrified,
Of what you've done,
The monster is your penance,
Your grief,
From a foul deed,
None would believe,
You trip, slip, and slam,
Your ankle is done for,
You turn to scream,
And instead are greeted,
By a little dog,
Instead of a nightmarish scene

Art

Poetry is a lost art,
Which stems from the pangs,
Of a tormented heart,
The pain of loss,
Emotion is the true cost,
But without it,
I'd truly be lost,
In the moments,
My heart turns dark,
Thankfully there is always a lone spark,
Which saves me,
From losing my heart,
My soul,
The words I write,
Are out of my control,
I could not tell you,
How I relinquish control,
How, for a moment,
I am letting go,
Of what it means to be me,
Poetry has set me free.

Insanity

Let me hold your heart,
And taste of it,
Let me scream you to sleep,
Let me drift menacingly,
Into your dreams,
Let me be your everything,
I'll whisper hateful things,
Deep into your mind,
I'll take away the peace,
You've hoped so long,
To find,
Let me caress your cheek,
And watch it bleed,
I am nothing,
Everything,
I am who you see,
More or less,
A misery,
Good company,
Your disease,
I am pure insanity.
