From the Dark

Can't you feel it?
The darkness,
It lurks there,
Smiling at you,
With darkened eyes,
And gleaming teeth,
No longer just a dream,
Or so it seems,
Is it really there?
Waiting for you to be careless,
To not check the closet,
Or under your bed,
It waits,
Solely for you,
Smile love,
All is not lost,
Unless you try to run,
Then you'll pay the highest cost,
For it waits,
Staring from the dark.
