Eric Boddie Poem
line count and word number are equal in this selection....
"Make It Count"
by: Eric L. Boddie
A
Man may
Come to play
But if you say
Oh no baby, not today
Do you think he would stay
Or would he go so far away
In search of another lover he could lay
Doing everything associated with rolling in that infamous hay
And if push came to shove, maybe he would pay
To relieve all the stress stemming from your hips' distant sway
Because something must give, there are more than fifty shades of gray
That's common knowledge to the freaks and all those upon which they prey
And once you learn them all, I promise your lover will never ever stray
But if you miss just a single one, then you may experience that dreadful day
Where you lose it all so try to find True Love and remember to always Pray

"My Pledge of Allegiance"
by: Eric L. Boddie
I Pledge Allegiance To The Word
Because there is no greater sound I've ever heard
I Pledge Allegiance To The Son
Because His Sacrifice Allows me Earthly Life And Beyond
I Pledge Allegiance To The Father
Because He Loves me better than any other
I Pledge Allegiance To The Holy Ghost
Because His Level Of Power Is By Far The Most
I Pledge Allegiance To His Love
Because It Protects me from danger and things thereof
I Pledge Allegiance To His Teachings
Instead of the one who is doing the Preaching
I Pledge Allegiance To His Every Commandment
It takes both, Reading And Prayer, To Understand It
I Pledge Allegiance To His Work
Even if it leads me to where evil lurks
I Pledge Allegiance To His Holy Fight
Because i truly want to bask in Heaven's Light
I Pledge Allegiance To His Faith
Because nothing is more Beautiful than His Grace
No flag, no nation, no constitution....I know so many will say that is odd
But I am just one of His Children, my Only Allegiance Is To God

Eric Boddie Poem
"Monday Dreadful Monday"
Most people are terrified of its presence
Only this moment can be the most hated
No more time for r&r....that's reefer and rum
Damn it....if he even looks at me I will need to find some new religion
And it's not even football season yet
Y did i even set the alarm clock....somebody make it STOPPPP!!!!
Do you watch the morning news
Reality check, why can't I find my shoes
Enter me back to the world where I must follow rules
Are there any sane people who don't think Trump is a fool
Dare I say that he is the biggest tool
First of all, his toupee ain't close to cool
Under his direction, we are fed a bull's stool
Like it or not, those IDIOTS elected a goule
Man, many make more mistakes
Only original ordinary organs orchestrate obediance
Nothing necessary needs new nihilism
Don't demand daily dreadful decisions
And are all actions appropriately and angrily aimed at apocolypse
Yes, you yearn yearly yet Yahweh yells yin young yang

“Power over Adversity”
by: Eric L. Boddie
Thank You for the victory that only You could conceive
Thank You for the air You allow each of us to breathe
Thank You for the food that keeps us going strong
Thank You for the Church, the place we all belong
Thank You for the rain that falls from above
Thank You for the struggle, it makes us worthy of Your Love
Thank You for the water, the maintainer of life
Thank You for the woman, only she can be a wife
Thank You for the children, the only form of man which is totally true
Thank You for the devil, only his test can prove our loyalty to You
Thank You for the saints who are not afraid to call upon Your Name
Thank You for the sacrifice given the last time You came
Thank You for Your Word, the greatest power ever
Thank You for Your Guidance through the stormiest weather
Thank You for listening every time I want to talk
Thank You for following me, no matter where I walk
Thank You for Your Mercy, It has been given so many times
Thank You for Your Forgiveness, even for the things which only occur in my mind
Thank You for my soul, the place where the costs of my sins will be paid
Thank You for Job, the greatest example ever made
Thank You for my brothers and sisters, just them, not the things they do
Thank You for my mother, she gave me directions to where I could find You
Thank You, Heavenly Father, because only in You can we place all of our trust
Thank You for Your Holy Son, He cleared a path for us

"Please Allow Me to Speak for Him"
by: Eric L. Boddie
Strength is boundless within his words
In the hearts of many, he should be heard
Lent me his pen one time in the past
Even his dark stuff reveals the awesome skill he has
Nothing can destroy a heart that's really pure
The Answer Is Christ, The Only Known Cure
Once He Arrives, everything makes sense
Nothing but his pen can get that intense
Each selection I have read makes me more appreciate what his pen invents

Eric Boddie Poem
There are so many people who will stand up
In the cause of speaking for others, but
What is the motivation for this act
I mean what do they gain to be more exact
I mean, they speak for some, but who will speak for all
Whose Life is more valuable....that's what I must ask yall
At the moment of conception, who will we cherish
And who will receive our condolences when they perish
Some never got to taste breath, many never saw the light of day
And if they had a chance, I imagine this is what they'd say
I never got my chance to lie, I never got my chance to tell the truth
I never got to be the elderly, I never got to be the youth
I never got to Love, I never got to hate
I never had to rush, I never had to wait
I never got to laugh, I never got to cry
I didn't get to win or lose, I didn't even get to try
I have never seen the sun, I have never seen the moon
I never felt a midnight, I never touched a noon
I never got to steal, I never got to earn
I never got to teach, I never got to learn
I didn't get to work, I didn't get to play
I never had to leave, I never got to stay
I never had my chance to listen, I never had my chance to tell
I never got to buy, I never got to sell
I never got to kill, I never got to save
I never had my chance to be bad, I never had my chance to behave
I was never your worst enemy, I was never you closest friend
I never forgot to say I Love you or to ask how have you been
But it's only Life right....I mean, you got your chance to record it
But we will never get ours....we are the aborted

"Identical Rhyme"
by: Eric L. Boddie
In the country, hogs eat slop
In the city, women like to shop
And really, where do stereotypes stop
Where do the lie and the Truth clash
Why must only just a few control all the cash
And why do some inquiries have to appear crass
Is it all in a scheme
Magnified by the virtual stream
And why can't some things be as they seem
It could possibly be because of a hidden payer
Or maybe through some fantastic action of a player
And, for that, you must know that anything is possible through Prayer
That's the daily action that should never end
Because it allows God To Extend
And Enter The Spiritual Engine
Pumping His Way through that which we bleed
So He Can Hold us tighter than a baby's hair bead
And we will Ascend To A Heavenly Breed

Eric Boddie Poem
by: Eric L. Boddie
"A History Of..."
As it has come to be
Foundations of slavery define my destiny
Relentless jealousy continues our oppression
Only the Black American is subject to such obsession
African American, naw, I prefer black myself
Me being a native to America ever since my first breath
Every act of discrimination, every possible form of abuse
Reflections of the Word Of God being just one excuse
In actuality, only hate can bestow such cruelty upon a fellow man
Can you imagine your mother tortured with observation as your only stand
And that is the history that I and others like me must endure
No humanity exists in my ancestors being three fifths of a human and that's for sure
Something wicked has been revealed....after all, my people are continuously killed.....

"Actions of Love"
by: Eric L. Boddie
What if I were to instigate your heart to join with my own
Would you make me the place you call home
If I challenge your body to a duel of pleasure
Would you be willing to expose your treasure
If I dare your Soul to become my mate
Would you define me as your fate
If I urge your eyes to see my truth
Would you help me build Love under just one roof
If I influence your hands to want to touch my frame
Would you declare yourself as only my personal toy without shame
If I bet your tongue that it can't out wrestle mine in any timing
Would you just accept it or would you die trying
If I inflict you with Love That's Truly Heavenly
Would you take your rightful place in Eric's Destiny....

"Legilla 1"
by: Eric L. Boddie
Love for this girl has already set in
It is friendly, but I still have to grin
God Is In you, I don't have to pretend
Every word I have read lets me know that I will win
Long after our connection, your words will still begin
Lasting inspiration as if it were the newest trend
And I will be the perpetrator....killing them with my pen....
