The One That Got Away

I want to be what makes you happy
I want to save you from the dark
I wouldn't hesitate to take away all your pain yet sadly
You haven't let me steal your heart.

Even if the whole world turned its back
I'd still try
Even if you didn't love me back
I'd still try
Even if your heart turn cold
I'd still try
Because even in your darkest hours
I see warmth
I see strength
I see sorrow
I see your struggles and your pain
I see your honest intentions
I see through the walls you build up
I can walk right through them.
I don't see the mask you paint on
I don't see the character you pretend to play
I see past the insecurities
I see what's real.
I see you.
Your eyes might be sad
But your heart's always been true.

Addiction

Loving him was an addiction
Just a taste could send you
S
  P
    I
     R
       A
         L
            I
             N
               G.....
You're in too deep
You're suffocating

Your lips were like poison
Your eyes could hypnotize
Your touch was my drug of choice
I craved to be wrapped up in your lies

It takes what feels like a lifetime
To put yourself back together
Yet only takes a split second
To relapse into what would feel like forever

Anxiety's My Best Friend

I swear to god that
Happiness is a drug
The only normal feeling I've got
Is when I feel stepped on
And my pieces swept under a rug
Depression is my normal
Anxiety's my best friend
A spark of energy
Only lasts a quick moment
Before it comes to a painful end
I don't trust a single word anybody tells me
Because if it ain't a lie
Well it sure as hell ain't genuine
People nowadays are so fake
Say they name is Chris
But really they's a Benjamin
Make rumors up about you
And call themselves a gentleman
Say they are a one of a kind
But they just a damn imitation
Say they wanna change the world
But act like they got limitation
I ain't one to judge
I don't know your situation
But God put you on this earth
Don't be a waste of his creation.

My Empathetic Heart

I feel forgotten and stranded
I'm always here for you
Yet I'm always abandoned
I feel your emotions
As if they're my own
Maybe it's my empathetic heart
I need to learn to disown

I can't tell if the world is against me
Or teaching me a lesson
My motto is to live free
And keep on progressin
But sometimes I need a hand to hold
need somebody to lean on
I don't ask for much
Why's this topic so hard for us to
Agree upon

I'm always there for you when you need me to be
Yet here I am alone trying to figure out why
it's so lonely to be me
I'm asking you this question
Because it weighs heavy on my heart
Why's it that everyone I love's
Always trying to rip me apart...

Judgement

What if this world
Is the judgment
That we all must face after we die
The judgement to get to heaven
That those who believe will be set free
And those who do not will perish forever
Maybe that's why we live our whole lives as a question
Desperately searching for the answer
Questioning everything that is brought upon us

Lost

I may not be where I want to be
And I may even be stumblin
But the lord knows my intention
Even if sometimes
I lose sense of direction
My heart is pure
And God I swear
One day soon
Im gonna get there
