The Tire Swing

A tire swing hanging from a willow tree
barely swaying to and fro
my small feet sweep
and kick up dirt
on the ground beneath and below.

Under a cold damp gray sky
safety is found here in the yard
from the darkness of the house
and the many things
I want to forget and discard.

As the rope holds my weight
my little mind is lost
too young to grasp the damage
or understand the cost.

I am the master of holding back tears
a lump keeps words from escaping
I scream silently inside
keeping my thoughts from shaping.

Slowly the motion rocks my fear to sleep
and I come back to where I came
imagination takes over
burying sad places
in my little frame.

My thoughts set free to run with wonder
oh how I love this tree
that I'm under.

Peace found while floating in a soft rubber tire
dark soul lit again
twirling under and
higher and higher.

Like scars that fade but never go away
rope has left a mark still Imprinted on the tree limb
In that yard
today.

Beneath the Stars

Stars by the millions above
twinkles whispering, waving and winking
a sermon of beauty, peace and love
I am awakened under this canopy
my chest fills with the night air
my center is stirred and flooded with tenderness
all desires are set free
curiously watching and believing each shimmering light
I am taken in by this silent shelter
as my eyes sweep over the sky this night.

Happy Solitude a Collaboration

A breeze, that blows a sheer drape at the window,
surrounds me like a warm water bath.
I soak in my delicious seclusion,
I loosen, my body starts to unknot,
I'm peacefully happy in my sweet little
quiet place sought.

To Be.
-As golden behind the first light of sunrise
I wash and wear my solitude with glee
Indulging in peaceful harmony,
I caress the moment withdrawn from the world
Seeking the solitude of a warm bubble bath
Relaxing to my sweet paradise

Summer Storm

A deep dark mysterious roar
hauntingly beautiful
echoes
as Rainfall prances on the ground.

Awakened by the howling
of the rolling rumble
tiny birds chirp in harmony
with the thunders groan.
The garden sings with delight
as it bathe in the summer rain.

Filled with excitement
all is at peace
in the melody
of an early morning storm.

The Flirt

She whispers in his ear
it's not what he expects to hear
he turns to see this voice
there's a twinkle in her eye at the sight of his surprise
she finds it sweet that he's embarrassed and a little shy
he's nervous but gently gives a reply
he stutters a bit
but asks her to sit.

As they chat her fingers find her wavy hair
he starts to relax by making her laugh
and then he starts to stare.
She brushes his arm
one soft touch
and starts to stare
just as much.
Like old lovers these two
on a blind date fresh and new

He whispers in her ear
something she wasn't expecting to hear
turns out they are quite the pair
red hot chemistry
in the air.

Feather Light

From powder blue sky
weightlessly drifting about
feather light landing

We Dance

Faintly rustled within
as you flow and move me
much like a soft warm breeze
touching leaves in a tree
you, me, and the wind, dance.
