My Pet Monster

My pet monster
best friend I ever had

through all the good times
and even all the bad

we walk the streets together
some people gawk and stare

when you moan "hi" to them
it gives them quite the scare

I don't mind when you drool
and your eyes roll in your head

your still totally cool 
and always welcome in my bed

and when your limbs and tail
fall off and need repair

I can stitch them on again
I will always be right there

Let Them Eat Cake

Never a girl 
so pretty as she
hair in pink curls
& a bunny called Dee

So happy together
always best friends
no matter the weather
they'd play til the end

A sweet tooth she had
whipped, frosted & candy coated
it all made her glad
& sometimes even bloated

It happened one Sunday
in the morning she'd wake
they'd all hear her say
"Let them eat cake!"

narwhal narwhal swimming thru the sky
you look like a unicorn
can you tell me why?
 
are you full of magic?
or maybe its a dream?
I love to ride the rainbows
in this place where nothing's as it seems
 
bursting thru the clouds
dew drops on my face
colors dance across the sky

Calli the drunken zombie cub
can often be found in the pub
for this is why
she's so often high
and passed out drunk in the tub!

Empty Womb

I was born to a mommy just as sweet as can be
she kept me warm and safe
held me close, she never stopped loving me

"when I grow up Im going to be just like you"
have a baby to love 
feel the other side of that special bond so true

but the world works in mysterious ways
good people will lose
while terrible mothers have their babies taken away

a womb destroyed by cancer given to me at birth
never given a chance
to experience the natural way of things here on earth

"so what","no biggie", "you'll make a great aunt" they say
your brothers having a baby
come on, let's celebrate this truly is a joyous day!

what's wrong? aren't you happy? there's so much planning to do
the baby will be here soon 
we're all so happy and you should be too

mommy's planning a baby shower for my sister in law
she'll be a grandma soon
why should she lose out because of my serious flaw

but she doesn't understand why I'm so blue
having to watch mommy
doing all the things she should be doing with you

I try so hard to put on a happy face rather than pout
but I'm just not strong enough
when its tearing me up from the inside out

can I ever stop mourning the baby that will never be
my broken womb
forever destitute, childless and empty.

Sleepless Nights

tossing & turning its now time to stay awake
another sleepless night
had enough of this severe chronic back ache

In my morning pain I may have said some things
those horrible spoken words 
that a sleepless night brings

I wish I’d never said them,  I’m seriously appalled 
for those horrible spoken words
no matter how much regretted can never be recalled

All alone she sits
in the afternoon sun
day dreams fill her mind
of all that shes done

A life so fulfilled
every wish has come true
what more can she want
what more can she do

In her day dreams
she's the girl with it all
wishing it were reality

My Good Friend

I’d like to tell you 
about my good friend
a constant companion 
best friends til the end

she’s always been there
boosting my spirits
wrapping me in warmth
oh isn’t she the dearest

she’s super duper fun
the life of the party
but back in highschool
it was her making me tardy

everyone loves her
insisting I share
we pass her around
but she doesn't seem to care

always plenty of laughs
she's guaranteed to provide
passing out munchies
and constant good vibes

we enjoy listening to Marley 
and other good  tunes
never any bad ones
she makes us immune

sometimes she sparkles
and then she’s way more fun
everyone loves her
except for... maybe the nuns

even after all these years
she makes me very happy
I breathe her all in
and I never feel crappy

the best part of it all
she takes away my pain
she’s my good friend
I call her Mary Jane

Fortune Telling Goddess Can'T Read Everybody's Mind At Once

why can't my friends 
just mean what they say?

Say what they mean
on any given day?

On any given day
I have so much 

going on in my mind
for me to make sense of

for me to make sense of 
whats in all my friends minds too

is just an impossible task
for me to be expected to do

for me to be expected to do
is read all your minds

but its driving me crazy
and even a little hazy at times

So this is my word
that from now til the end

this fortune telling goddess
will do for all her friends

Black Beauty

She's sewn back together
completely up tight
emotions trapped inside her
deep and out of sight

She put a pad lock on 
and threw away the key
her feelings are all gone
can't you see

She's so full of fear
expectations are running high
such a poor little dear
so afraid she might die
