I lay here today a soldier
I know some don't understand
I will try to explain
So maybe you can
I served my country
For many a year
I retired long ago
The soldier still here
I put on my uniform
I wore it to foreign lands
The soldier I was
Is still in the man
I have been a husband, father, and friend
To some of you here
But I've been a soldier all along
Even after so many a year
My final salute
I render today
I'm still a soldier
I'm just on my way

I'm growing old
My body is weary
I don't want to leave you
I still see you quite clearly
Please hold my hand
Are you still there
My time is drawing near
My vision is blurry
I can barley hear
Please hold my hand
I can no longer see you
The lights have all gone out
Oh, my darling I love you
But my time has run out
Please hold my hand
I see you quite clearly
Bent over my bed
Tears run down your cheeks
That you have shed
I know your heart is breaking
Please dry your eyes and see
I haven't gone far, reach up to me
And I'll hold your hand

THEY LIVE HERE AMONG US
THEY LIVE OVERSEAS
THEY HAVE RADICAL BELIEFS
THEY WANT US ON OUR KNEES
WHETHER AMERICAN OR JAPANESE
IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER
THESE RADICALS ARE HELL BENT
TO HAVE OUR HEADS ON A PLATTER
WHETHER CHRISTIAN OR BUDDHIST
YOU BETTER KEEP A KEEN EAR
ISIS ISN'T COMING
THEY'RE ALREADY HERE
THEY ARE CRUEL AND BARBARIC
THEY CUT OFF A REPORTERS HEAD
THEY FILM THE WHOLE THING
JUST TO SHOW US HE IS DEAD
THE U.S. BETTER WAKE UP
AND DEAL WITH THIS THREAT
A 9-11 STYLE ATTACK IS COMING
ON THAT YOU CAN BET
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I look over the fields
At Arlington where they lay
Their pearly white crosses
Stand proudly each day
Wheather gleaming in sunlight
Or covered with snow
Each one stands for freedom
Each one in a row
We should hang a medal of honor
On these crosses that stand
These warriors gave everything
They've protected our land
We owe them a debt
We can never repay
Please join me and honor them
Each and every Veteran's Day

Sweet as honey from the hive
Warm as the hearth on cold winters night
Bright as the sun of a new day
Cheerful as the song of a bird in flight
Strong as the blade of a swordsman posed to strike
Steady as the north star at night
Soft as a kitten's coat
Beautiful as the northern light
Gentle as a babbling brook
Playful as a puppy at her best
Pure as the new fallen snow
Peaceful as a babe at mother's breast
It can comfort when your in pain
It can make you happy when you are gray
It can tell the tale of 1000 words
It can be the perfect end to a long stressful day

WHERE DOES OUR SOUL LIVE
WHERE DOES OUR SOUL LIVE
IS IT TRAPPED IN OUR HEART
IT’S JUST A MUSCLE
THAT PUMPS BLOOD TO EVERY PART
WHERE DOES OUR SPIRIT RESIDE
IS IT TRAPPED IN OUR BRAIN
IT’S JUST A FLESH COMPUTER
THAT ALLOWS THE BODY FREE REIGHN
WHERE DOES OUR ETERNAL ESSENCE LIE
IS IT TRAPPED SOMEWHERE DEEP INSIDE
OR IS IT A COMBINATION OF CELLS
IN WHICH THE BODY RELIED
I CAN NOT ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS
IF IT’S THE HEART OR THE BRAIN
I SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW
WHERE OUR ESSENCE REMAIN
FOR ME, I THINK IT’S SEPARATE
FROM ALL OF OUR PARTS
YET I THINK IT’S THE TOTAL
OF OUR CELLS, BRAIN, AND HEARTS
I KNOW IT’S CONFUSING
YET SIMPLE, YOU SEE
LEAVE ALL THIS TO GOD
HE IS THERE TO SET OUR SOULS FREE

I feel tremendous pressure
