I'Ll Hold Your Hand

I'm growing old My body is weary I don't want to leave you I still see you quite clearly Please hold my hand Are you still there My time is drawing near My vision is blurry I can barley hear Please hold my hand I can no longer see you The lights have all gone out Oh, my darling I love you But my time has run out Please hold my hand I see you quite clearly Bent over my bed Tears run down your cheeks That you have shed I know your heart is breaking Please dry your eyes and see I haven't gone far, reach up to me And I'll hold your hand

Timothy, This is absolutely, positively beautiful, from the construction to the flow, to the rhyme, to the message. It's first rate in every way. Thank you for creating it.

OH OH OH...how beautiful is this! It has touched my heart. Death was never meant to be...but one day, Death will die. That's why I love the poem by John Donne...Death be Not Proud. Lovely poem here. Thanks for your visit to my work.

Thanks Kelly, I wrote this poem while thinking of my wife's grandparents. They were married for ever, and when Grandpa passed Grandma had alshimers. It was truly heat breaking, they were everything to each other.
