Time Left To Repeat

Round and round
Round and round we go
life after life drowned
in this world we think we know
past to present then back to past again
lives lost but are not dead
those thought dead brought back again
children of the past once again go to bed
for those unable to comprehend
time repeats from the cradle to the grave
then starts the beginning of the end
despite all efforts that we gave
and is then reversed
never to change like a song that's been rehearsed
leaving many hearts needing a mend
within this cycle that seems to never end.

Days Gone By

All the time I've wasted and chances I've refused to take
Dreams deferred and the mornings I did wake
Bring sadness upon me and tears to my eyes
Little did I know just how quickly time flies by
Deep inside where all the stronger feelings originate
Dejection and regret mixed with a little bit of hate
I long to go back in time
But I don't have that for a lifeline
Little by little I slowly die inside
Where all the chronic pains reside
Lift me up then slam me down
Tell me I'm able then watch me drown
I'm under pressure, and about to blow
See the darker colors glow
I'll show you things you've never seen before
Joy burnt all the way to the core
Along with all the other good things that died inside
I'll let you in with no force applied
I'm tired and I can't sleep at all
I'm weak and about to fall
I'm antithesis to sublime
All because of father time
I have to watch time leave with no goodbye
I stare as it blows right out the window and wonder why
My sadness pins me to the ground
I take the pain and make no sound
I cry when it leaves my sight
And say goodbye to all the days gone by, and hello to the dark, dreary, and somber night.

If I Were Gone

If you were never again to see me,
Left to live alone in question,
Deprived of whom you cared for endlessly,
Would you live in hesitation?
Forever to reproach of my deliverance,
Meanwhile wandering through a dark forest
Searching for just a single sign of my existence,
Praying that I have not been put to rest.
If you open your eyes
You will see that I have not,
But have instead been awoken.
So the matter at hand
As you watch the break of dawn,
Remember that it is a request not a demand.
I would not want you to give up on life, if I were gone.

Heart of a Caged Animal

Cling to the last fragments of your credence
Forgetting all mistakes and faults
Forgiving the critics of their impotence
and slandering those the world exalts
They can lock an animal in a cage
Depriving it of its God-given right
However can never take away its rage
So they instead put it in a vexatious plight
Despite this all and control of a tyrant
Driven by a claim of purity
A claim of which he needs to recant
I would have pity for one with such calamity
But for those who hope wrongdoing on another
And receive from it some sick sense of pleasure
I wish for you a long life and pain in which you smother
For they are great and to them you are of no measure
As comforting the song of an angel calming the rage of the caged animal and setting it free
That same angel's song heals the enraged caged animal's wounds inside of me.

Pyromaniac

We are fire
Dancing in the wind
To the left, to the right
'Till the end of sight
Cascading down and down and still further
Silence, not our forte
We blaze
Red, blue, white hot
We, the undefeated
We are the champions of the night
Spreading wider, and even more
We spread, until the breath of life lives no more

The Eagle Beneath My Wing

We fly farther than any other can go
me and the eagle beneath my wing.
We fly wherever the wind may blow.
We'll never give up hope; it is hope to which we cling.
Hope is our creed; we tattooed the word itself on each other’s heart.
So far, we have not discovered what we had hoped to find.
I will never allow us to be torn apart,
because without the eagle beneath my wing, I would be blind.
If faced with the choice to die or give up our creed,
we would not let our creed fall apart and tear.
We would gladly fly through the darkness, stare death in the eye, and proudly bleed.
Are purpose is fulfilled, so our souls would glide through the air.
Together in peaceful serenity we would fly
in such a way that the seraphs up above start to sing.
As I begin to joyfully cry:
Together forever, me and the eagle beneath my wing.

The Rose

Bright, is the future of thee,
as bright as the northern star
you shine through the night in perfect harmony
a beautiful blooming rose, you are.
When thinking of purity, you are what I see.
A fragile but strong-willed child, left unable to mar.
You love others; you never show animosity.
So, I presume with you I'll stay,
for you changed me, and saved me from the day.
Thank you for the love you gave to me,
now my days will be bright, no longer gray.

Youth of Yesterday

Oh sweet misery
How you comfort my soul
Make our bond whole with sorrow
My gorgeous nightmare
My unfortunate truth
Break down and chase away my youth
For years of yesterday
Calm me now
I see your tears
Remember, my soul too, shall ache and hide from me

Aching Souls

A constant ache
A raging churn
Within my heart
The pulse of it
Throws me under
One… Two… Three… Four
One… Two… Three… Four
One… Two… Three… Four
Then the silence
It boils inside
Pointing fingers
Not good manners
The aching stops
Silence is dread
Seconds, minutes
Hours, days, weeks... soon
The day will come
My soul will ache

Tale of a Vainglorious King

Blinded by vanity
a king has no hope, only a pugilistic mind.
He speaks his urbane opinions carelessly
berating all others; he leaves their broken hearts behind.
Since he himself has no hope, he crushes the hopes of those he thinks of pusillanimously.
Such a waste, their hopes will never be refined.
This king, contrary to many other kings, was not thought of as volatile.
Not a soul, would I expect to be surprised,
In fact, they expected no other fact; they said he deserved credit through death upon exile.
Atop their graves, written on the tombstone, are words that penetrate so deep into you that you can hear their thoughts, which were not so much compromised.
All the while, the king is enclosed in his vanity.
Forevermore with a crown atop his grave
Along with the few remnants of his dignity
In addition to the veridical words
“A king, not so much, but a mortal man whose vanity couldn't save.”
I assure you, vanity is the bane
of this tragedy, so avoid it at all costs, for it will not diminish but will instead only exacerbate the pain.
