Feigned Freedom

forced solitude
compulsory confinement
freedom from the sun

tall walls
large locks
glum guards

the soundless flow of time
yawning years
freedom of thoughtlesness

timed routines
in a timeless atmosphere
feigned freedom

A Poet's Prayer

Bless me
with the fluency of fury
and the articulate voice of anger.
Spare me though,
of its affliction of aggression.

Let my pen paint
the reflection of my thoughts
like a mirror.
Thus my lines become
clones of my imaginations.

Let creativity be
the stubborn shadow
of my verses
and let not inspiration
fly out of my window.

Light a Candle

light a candle.
let it glow with hope.
let its thin film of smoke
disperse the dark clouds.
let it drizzle and frizzle out your stress,
let it wash off the stench of sweat.
let your pregnant hope
deliver twins and triplets;
multiple tales of success.

A Threnody's Melody

death whispers
and silence shivers.
hails of wails
pierce the serene atmosphere.
a chorus of sobs
devoid of harmony.
a threnody's melody
is pure agony.

Loud Tears

Tears
are not loud
enough to express
hurt,
not thick
enough to paint
a clear
picture of pain.

Smiles
are so silent
you strain to hear happiness
screaming
from deep within,
so bright,
yet a dull imitation
of joy.l

Thirsty

Lust,
purified and liquified
lubricates the wheels of my thoughts.
Desires gone wild
tortures my soul with thirst!

The Gun

Innocent.
silently the blacksmith works
trying to make a living.

Harmless.
The finished product;
the cute cold black metal rod.

Viscious.
The gun swallows
poisonous pellets.

Violent.
It roars.
It spits fire.
It spits death...

Turbulent Serenity

it looks humble
but harbors trouble.
a pregnant silence
nurtures violence.
it is threatening,
it is frightening...
a silent silence whispers vengeance
it is worse than an out-spoken uproar.

Stainless Love

Your rejection
is a violent blow
to the face of my affection.
It stops the flow
of my compasssion's blood
and dries the flood
of my burning passsion.
But I will continue to feed
this innocent attraction.
I will ontinue to breed
this stainless love
until its muscles grow tough.

Death Is a Whiteman

Death is a whiteman!
A whiteman without a face,
blends well with the sun.
A deadly sniper in the day
strikes from a distance.

Death is a blackman!
A blackman without a shadow,
sneaks up on unsuspecting victims.
He resides in the dark night
and vanishes with the rising sun.
