Running River

The river runs deep and wide,
There isn’t a day gone by that we haven’t cried.
Our link to old wisdom and the beautiful past.
We tried to hold on with our weak human grasp.
The rushing water’s path of destruction,
Prohibits us from following your instruction.
We swim against the current, praying
We drag our bodies to the bank laying,
Face down in the sand barely out of the water
Searching for hope or some type of fodder.
To give us strength to finish the excursion,
Our hearts are weary from the prolonged immersion.
We will swim and wade in this river of sorrow,
Hoping, healing and happiness are held by tomorrow.

Godly Teaching Inspiration In the Iy Generation

It is so hard in this day and age of blurred lines, wrecking balls and falling trees to challenge students to see the right side of things,
The way Jesus made others see.
He who is without sin throws the first stone,
Two people who owe a debt are forgiven
Which one is more grateful?
The one owed the small debt or the large debt?
Side note, math word problems have always baffled me and even though I read through this parable to find the answer, I am still confused, but I showed my work so that counts for something right?
Jesus’ parables are such a great outline on how to present something to this x or z or gf, btw generation.
If we post it on twitter they might just retweet it and believe it.
Btw when you label someone they will begin to act in the way that they have been labeled.
If we aren't getting kids to smell what Dr. O is cooking aka blowing up, then it is our fault.
Jesus was able to take the most difficult people of his day and get them to see what was up!
But you say he had God on his side, so do we*Romans 8:31
But he was the son of God, we are also the children of God* Galatians 3:26-27
Feel free to chime in with excuses; we can post those on twitter too, #lame.
Sure we are going to get played more than FIFA 14 and Flappy Bird.
But it’s like they say in Baseball and softball, it only takes one.
And for us it is that one sheep we are responsible for* Luke 15:1-7
Your sheep may be bigger than others, but the Lord has placed that sheep in your flock for a reason.
We are empowered by a God that split the Red Sea,
Saved people from fire
Had the courage to sacrifice his only Son for our salvation
So grab your canes aka iPads and do better than meeting the black eyed peas halfway.
Go get you a Sheep!!

Not By My Power

I was on path when I came to a fork in the tongue
And with a simple sinful flick I was flung.
Onto the path that the world traveled.
Trekking on only to see their world unraveled.
But I bumped and grinded on the edge of a slippery slope
So when I slipped I used my knowledge to cope.
I survived my decline much like Miley Cyrus,
Instead of seeking the Lord’s knowledge in the Papyrus.
Like Eminem I was full of myself but I still had had a hunger
That would not let me hear the beautiful things by Gungor.
I tossed my wonderfully made soul around like a pair of dice
Rejecting the teachings that would lead to para para para dise.
Because how can you stomach the idea of second place
With YMCA trophies to show that everybody wins the race.
The prizes are so blinding it makes it hard for us to hear.
Train all you want, the finish line you will never clear.
We possess no power to turn our deaths into Life.
So we needed a savior to save us from our strife.
Passover lambs, unleavened bread and bloody sweat
Accompanied the only death we will never regret.
With the fare of 30 pieces of silver paid, he boarded the cross
And the heavenly conception would appear to be a loss.
The chief priests and lawmakers begin to feign
And a Pilate washed his hands and started the plane
That would begin the don’t stop believing journey
Because Jesus came to fulfill the law unlike an attorney.
He had to sacrifice his Son on a hill to show man.
Then he raised him up like Josh Groban.
And yet we still can’t work our deaths into good
It is the birth, life, death, and resurrection that will get us into the heavenly neighborhood.
