Louisa April Poem
in the empty silence
that cuddled me in
cold corners,
i found answers
written on the wall;
with finger nails
and blood stains.
the darkness kissed my cheek
and wiped my tears away

Louisa April Poem
Sometimes gravity will have
It’s grip on you.
All those moments you thought
Your feet were about to leave the ground
When your wings were finally carried
By the wind, only to have it disappear
At the edge of uncertainty.
Sometimes the choices you make
Feel like pit holes, and all
You ever do is fall into them
Getting lost in underground tunnels
Looking for the light that
Plays hide and seek with your mind.
Sometimes we forget to smile
When all we see are grey clouds
And the snow is falling a bit too much
We wish for sun that wont show itself,
Want things we know will come
But suddenly become impatient.
Sometimes we forget how many times
We fell while learning how to walk
We don’t try to stand up when life
Pushes us down , we begin to crawl
And hope someone will find us
And lift us up, but sometimes
That person should be us.

Louisa April Poem
The street lights wink at me
their dim glow barely
illuminates my silhouette
my faulty being
my black skindedness
i used to think i was fluidity
i swallowed the sun and her light
would not pierce through these layers
my head now burried in the sand
ashamed of my attire
i couldn’t undress my self anymore
my nakedness reminded me of the
sun on my ancestors backs
as they picked white balls, pure like snow
their gazes were cuts, constantly staring
i did not know how to not be
the Gods cast me out of their wombs
i was their dirty little secret
a scab, mould, something different
my skin lights don’t glow like theirs
and i’m okay with this.
i made a necklace using the moon
it reminds me of pearly things.
makes my skin pretty

Louisa April Poem
He smells like dead butterflies.
i can still see the powdery color
from their wings on his skin
he's a canvas,
i'm watching him come to life
