My Hero Is Dead

My hero is dead
Or gone forever
My hero
Won't ever
Look me in the eyes
Ever again
My hero
Is dead
My hero's heart
Will not beat
For me
Never run with mine agaib
Because
Painfully
My hero is dead

Smile

Your smile
Is the brightest thing in my life
When it shows
The whole world shines
And all I wanna do is smile too
When you laugh
And your face turns red
And your smile grows across
your cheeks
I keep a picture of your smile
And every time I see it
I smile too

Out of Control

Everything is out of control
Caving down on me
And crushing
My skull
I try to grab hold
But everything
Swings
Out of the way
Like an acrobats
Trapeze
And I'm trying to stand firm
Trying not to fall
But the ground is swaying
Nothing will hold still
I'm knocked onto my back
Forced to stare at the sky
I want to throw up
Or perhaps...
Just die

Scared

I'm scared.
More scared than you could ever imagine I could be.
I try to hide it.
But it's still there.
I'm scared of the future.
I want to be grown up,
but I don't.
I don't want to file for insurance,
I don't want to apply for college,
I don't want to apply to any where and get turned down.
I'm scared of everything right now.
I'm scared of getting old,I'm scared of not living my life to the extent that
I know I could manage.
I'm scared of dying.
i'm just scared at this point
in my life.
Really, really scared.

A Writer's Escape

My escape
similar to heroin
or sharp whiskey.
Almost like the stinging kiss of a razor blade.
different though,
in the manner of
it isn't going to hurt me
in the way those other things would.
I will not have scars from my escape.
No needle marks on the pale skin on my arms,
no headache from the Wild Turkey,
and no flaking scabs on my thighs.
When I escape,
I fly.
And when I land,
there's dry ink on my pinky,
and the air smells of ballpoint pen.

Adult

I am not an adult.
I am a naive teenage girl.
I don’t want to be an adult.
I want to be respected,
and trusted,
and I want people to have faith in me.
I don’t want it mistaken,
I don’t want to grow up.
If Neverland was real,
I woulda been on the first plane there.
I don’t want responsibility,
but I can handle them when they come my way.
I want people to understand that I am allowed to make mistakes
and to understand that even the wisest
and oldest among us
make
mistakes.
II feel like people throw my words into my face
after they twist them around
into a meaning
that wasn’t even there
and then they say that if I want to
be treated as an adult
I should stop saying immature things.
But I want to be
a teenage girl
I just would also like some trust
and some respect
because I feel like
I try to respect other’s
even when they think of me as dirt.

Mine

I wish I'd had the guts
To ever call you mine
Wish I could say it now
But it's too late
To turn back time
If you came back
And you said you were sorry
For everything you'd done
I'd shrug it off and say it's fine
If I said it to you though...
You probably walk away
And shake your head
Saying I should have said it
On an earlier day
I wish I could make you know
What it feels like to miss you
But nothing could describe it
Not a blade dug into my wrist
Which would be only a baby's
kiss
A bullet through my head
Would be an airy dream in bed
A rock to the face?
No pain could ever take the
place
Of what I feel
When I miss you
I wish I could call you mine

Beautifully Crazy

You feel like a dream
A beautifully
Crazy
Dream

When I think
Back
Everything is
Blurry

Like a dream
That I can't quite
Remember
Exactly when I had it

But it was a beautiful
Dream.
Crazy.
But beautiful.

Mom

You can say you know me
You can pretend you know my
life
Say you know what you
couldn't
Ever imagine
So I let you pretend
Let you play make believe
So that you don't feel insecure
About the fact
That you don't know
Your own daughter

Dear World

Dear World,
I'm here.
I'm alive, and I'm almost well.
I'm breathing air
and aging with time
that perhaps I shouldn't be using.
I'm young, but I'm old,
Dear World.
I know that you do no want me,
but you need me.
You push me around,
and drag me around,
but I'm here and you cannot bear without me.
Right Dear world?
What would you do without a laughingstock like me?
You would be so lost.
You need me World.
And someday, I'm going to fight back.
So be prepared,
Dear World.
I'm here,
and I'm whole,
and almost well.
