Mary Beth

Mary Beth You remind me of the sun, soft and warm. Not yet touched by the hands of December days. Maybe October's fingers have fondled you skin, but not enough to leave scars of chilling days. I Love the sun as I Love you, winters frighten me away, they're so cold and bitter. Please, avoid December days, and I'll bring on August months. I believe in you.

Clean Sheet

CLEAN SHEET
You look at me
lying there,
unblemished,
pure in my whiteness
as if you don't know
what to do with me.
You look at me,
empty,
untouched,
vulnerable,
defenceless,
exposed without protest.
You look at me
ready to attack
with pen in hand,
thoughts in mind
and give me virtue.

Yesterday

Yesterday,
I want to know where'd you go,
you left my night so long.
Yesterday,
I want to know where'd you stay,
did you feel that something was wrong?

Did you call out my name,
did you feel any pain,
Oh Baby,
was it the same?

Yesterday,
I watched the night,
came and take my whole day away.
Yesterday,
I watched the light
like our Love, slowly did fade.

It was just yesterday
I heard you say, I Love you,
was it the same oh Baby,
was it the same?

Yesterday,
I didn't turn out the light
cause Baby I was so filled with fright.
Yesterday,
you left me so alone,
Oh Baby
why didn't you come home?

It was just yesterday
that I heard you say, I Love you,
was it the same,
was it the same,
Yesterday?

The Arrow

...and darkness fell.
The birds nested in silence.
The people retired their day.
The wind never stirred.
The moon never rose.
All was dark.
The sea laid still.
Calmness overtook.
Nothing became everything,
and Love shattered my all,
laying scattered within.
        Rage descended,
        and
        Death dove
        down
        as swift
        and sharp
        as the Arrow
        for the Kill!
...and darkness fell.

Devastation

When devastation sets in,
there's no truth in color
and tomorrow doesn't exist.
Reality distorts
and what you believe, becomes.
Memories become lost friends of yesterday,
enemies of today.
Responsibility belongs to tomorrow.
Freedom becomes penal,
shadows lighten brilliantly,
dark is light.
Sweat cleanses the brow,
tears heighten perceptions.
And self
destroys self,
righteously.
