Red

Her blood spilled red
Proof of the fact that he never cared
On and on she, he led
Her heart grew fat on his lies it fed

The roses he sent her
They were All red
The tears she hoped she'll never shed
Spill like a torrent when she remembers what they both shared

She remembers when she heard
That he who was her beloved
And she hoped to wed
Was thought strange and simply weird

When she questioned
He stabbed her chest and head then fled
On and on she bled
This was a pain she couldn't bear
It wasn't just because he wasn't there
It was the realization of the fact that he never cared how she fared

He who was her beloved and she hoped to wed
Those were her Final thoughts before she dropped dead.

Colours

On the canvas of my life's painting
I see many colours
Many shades
Blue for the days I had no clue why my life had such a sad hue
Red for the days my heart go swollen and bled with love
White for the days that were pure and sweet
Black for the days I could do nothing but grieve
Yellow for the days filled with sunshine
Green for the days I spent in the bosom of nature
Orange for the days that my life seemed to have a bright spark
Grey for the gloomy days where everything was dull and I had no hope
Brown for the days that were so dry and uncomfortable
Gold for the days my world held meaning and had value
Silver for those linings I found on the cloud of my life
Pink for the days I was cheery
Purple for the days my world was as sweet as berries
I see the splashes and splotches across the canvas of my life
All these Colours come together to make a blur brighter than the rainbow.
                                                            Barakat.

The Cliff

I have journeyed through the desert
Through thick and thin
I say to myself I just have to win
I have come to the mountain I have to climb
I begin my ascent
I have to make it to the top
Then suddenly I see it
 The cliff
That moment, everyThing I've done flashes before my eyes
I recap the various moments of my life
Should I turn back or make this dive
Should I remove the shroud of lies I've always told myself
And show myself the stark naked truth
Should I make the decision to know the true me
Should I take the risk or turn back and remain the same.
