Games

Memories are unobtainable.
My mind may not let me know,
My mind may or may not let me see,

Time may be the teacher,
To all my unanswered questions.

Is it love?
Is it lust?
Is it convenience?

BUT AT WHAT COST?

The lonely child within screams for something.
What it is I do not know.
Let’s play a game!

Grandma Connors

I am a drudge-mad caroler,
Singing my songs of sadness to anyone
Who will listen.

I am not the only one in this house who is
Missing her, with feelings of sorrow for
One who has recently been lost,
But will never be forgotten.

I'D Be Screaming In Hell If There Were One

Thirty-one becoming…
For better or worse.

Saugus was my habitat
Where I dwelled in my fortress of solitude
With my parents and two brothers.

A black veil covers the eyes of my childhood
Like an Italian Widow at her husbands funeral.

Bazaar, obsessive thoughts stampede through my brain.

Will my parents poison my food?
Will they leave my while I am asleep?
Need to keep counting the tiles, counting the colors, counting on my fingers.
Why won’t this unknown entity go away?
He is present even when I am alone.

Always there,
Always watching,

FOREVER!

In Your Light

In your light,
I have seen the meaning of kindness.

In your light,
I have seen generosity at its fullest.

In your light,
I have seen utter patience.

In your light,
I have seen unwavering commitment.

In your light,
I have seen unrestricted compassion.

In your light,
I have seen YOUR love has no boundaries.

Goodbye

As the sand undulates from the shore
So do your emotions.

With each powerful wave
A little more washes away.

My heart is caught in the undertow.
It sinks deeper and deeper into despair.

I look up at the gull
Flying high and free,
And realize it has your face….

My Favorite Place

As I lie down on the soft blanket of grass
That the earth has provided for me.
I feel it cradle me and drain away all uneasiness.

When looking up I see,
My favorite friend
The Willow tree,
Smiling fondly down at me.

I wonder what he is thinking
While dropping green kisses
That directly land on my body
My friend has intended for me.

The cool breeze from the water
Dances against my skin,
With soft ballerina slippers.
And the constant rustle of the leaves on the trees,
Is the symphony in which it performs.

There is a beautiful lake
That I love to look at.
I watch the numerous windsurfers
Gracefully gliding around
While the brilliant colors on their sails
Chase closely behind.

As always,
My mind starts to remember
The turning of the seasons
Will be here soon.
But the lasting memory of smell’s, sights and sounds
Carries me through
Yet another cold winter.

Until I am able to return
To my favorite place.

In the End

Centuries have come and gone,
The trees silently strengthen and grow enormous
Without anyone noticing or caring.

They observe our world
Through their bark-filled consciousness.
They listen intently with sap seeping ears.

Their wisdom surpasses ours by hundreds of years.

While laughing at our insignificant world,
They see us as inconsequential, meaningless creatures.

Their mammoth beings know us as weak and pathetic,
As our world steadily progresses on the lane to definite destruction.

In the end,
They know that they will be the ones left standing tall and mighty.

While we slowly, but inevitably exterminate ourselves.
