Truth Or Dare

Glowing shimmering
Radiating light
A blazing inferno
Unmoving, powerful
Raging energy
Hot as the sun
Defying those
Who try to put it out
Refusing to give in
Never showing weakness
Seems unfeeling
And not wanting anyone
While inside is hidden
By a mask of indifference
A flickering flame
A small spark
Warm, and soft
Gentle and desperate
For someone to share
The worries and fears
Unable, unwilling
To succumb to tears
Strong it does seem
And unable to dim
The appearance on the outside
Hides the truth within

Playing With Fire

Dancing round
The flickering flames
Skirting the problem
Avoiding the truth
Turning a blind eye
Words left unsaid
Emotions hidden
Pretending, evading
Singeing our finger tips
Heating up and making larger
The space between us
Unable to look me in the eye
A problem that grows
Fanned and fed by silence
Till we get burned
And scars are left
It spreads and consumes
Wild, out of control
So easy to prevent
Now more difficult to stop

Longing To Fly

Restless, pacing
Caged in by
This useless form
That won't let me fly
I see the birds above
So wild, so free
Beauty and grace
Taunting me
From this joy
Im forever bared
Doomed to remain here
Broken and scared
Among the clouds
In skies so blue
Wind riding their backs
Is where I should be too
A sunlight place
That's where I belong
And with the birds
I'd sing along
A song of joy
Of peace and light
Spread my wings
From here take flight
And not look back
But fly on instead
And keep on flying
Until the end
Escape the pain
And just get away
Leave and find
A safe place to stay
This new hope
A wish a dream
Desire so strong
Destined to remain unseen

The One

Dreams as bright as stars above
Wishing for an unbound love
Will there be someone to understand
And roam the world, hand in hand
And be content to walk in the sand
Is it foolish, or could there be
Someone special just for me
I close my eyes and breath in deep
Hoping I'll see you in my sleep
Wishing your face might appear
So I can see you, and feel you near
I'll do my best and try to wait
And leave our meeting up to fate

Forest

A rustle of leaves
Wisp of wind
The trees bend and weave
Sharing secrets
Playing music
As they dance in the breeze
Warm golden sun
Bright green leaves
Painting patterns in the light
Sounds like laughter
Fresh and new
Inviting me to dance along

Unmasked

Sunlight filters
Through the leaves
As I lean
Against a tree
The wind plays gently
With my hair
At the world
I sit and state
Never wanting
To leave here
Here I can think
My mind is clear
I smile softly
As sun shines
On my face
I live for these times
Where I can sit
And just let go
Let down my guard
And let emotion show
In my eyes
And not have to try
So hard to fake it
So hard to hide
No one else
Tries to see
So only here
Will I be me

Soaring

So green and subdued
Golden light that trickles through
Skies of the clearest crystal blue
Birds sing of freedom all day long
To this tune my heart sings along
Wishing wanting for this song
To sing true for me so that I
Like the birds will learn to sing, to fly
Escape this world and soar up high
I feel the rush, I know I can
But still I'm stuck down on dry land
Alone, walking barefoot in the sand
Wondering if there just might be
A place where I can wander free
And be allowed to just be me

Heavens Help

A whispered wish
A sweet lullaby
Twinkling lights
Stars in the sky
They fall like rain
And land among
The ones whose wishes
And songs must be sung
For those in need
The stars take care
And send the one
Who you need there
By your side
Day and night
To raise you up
And give you sight
To see yourself
Through loves true eyes
And give you wings
So you can fly
So to the stars
Your wishes send
And a helping hand
They may lend
Not all is lost
Just look to the sky
Let your heart make a wish
Then send it up high

Wind

Cool and soothing
A gentle caress
Whispering softly
A faint sweet breath
Winding its whispy fingers
Round and round
Eyes closed, arms spread wide
Feel it all around
Familiar, friendly
Letting go of frustration
Letting yourself feel
Just the tingling sensation
As it blows back your hair
Feeling so wild and free
Swirling spirals of air
Cascade around me

Le Chanson Vrai

Shifting dirt
Beneath my feet
Solid stance
Poised, ready
The wind picks up
Caresses my face
Waiting, waiting
Till its just right
The sun to my back
Eyes focused
Arm steady
Feeling for the moment
Till its just right
A lull in the breeze
The moment has come
Bring up, pull back
Straight along, lined up right
Every muscle taught
Like the string, I'm steady
Release, it sings
As the target is met
Satisfaction floods
The air vibrates with power
The bow still hums
As pleased as I am
To let loose an arrow
Feeling the rush
Again and again
One with the wood
And string and steel
With the ground at my feet
Tuned in to every sound
Slightest shift of the air
Feeling everything
Knowing when to strike
Like an old friend
The wood is molded to my grip
Familiar with each other
A perfect fit, complete and
whole
