Longing To Fly

Restless, pacing
Caged in by
This useless form
That won't let me fly
I see the birds above
So wild, so free
Beauty and grace
Taunting me
From this joy
Im forever bared
Doomed to remain here
Broken and scared
Among the clouds
In skies so blue
Wind riding their backs
Is where I should be too
A sunlight place
That's where I belong
And with the birds
I'd sing along
A song of joy
Of peace and light
Spread my wings
From here take flight
And not look back
But fly on instead
And keep on flying
Until the end
Escape the pain
And just get away
Leave and find
A safe place to stay
This new hope
A wish a dream
Desire so strong
Destined to remain unseen

Try telling yourself, "I can fly," before you go to sleep. Sometimes it works. Good write. Congrats on the selection. daver
