Soaring
So green and subdued
Golden light that trickles through
Skies of the clearest crystal blue
Birds sing of freedom all day long
To this tune my heart sings along
Wishing wanting for this song
To sing true for me so that I
Like the birds will learn to sing, to fly
Escape this world and soar up high
I feel the rush, I know I can
But still I'm stuck down on dry land
Alone, walking barefoot in the sand
Wondering if there just might be
A place where I can wander free
And be allowed to just be me
