individually rugged
aggressively passive
acerbic wit.

the ocean existed before me
the waves do not cease
in my wake

crushed hopes
bitter defeat
flattened ant
disillusionment
all is lost

Robin Wrenn-Fiore Poem
MISOGYNY
HE SAID
I AM YOUR BOSS, YOU FOLLOW ME.
little me said, I thought GOD was the boss.
HE SAID I WILL HIT YOU WHEN I THINK YOU DESERVE IT, EVEN IN FRONT OF YOUR CHILDREN! I AM THE ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD!!
little me knew that if we said “no,” HE had the capability of crushing them all, like Esther.
so, then, the skinny white girl
with nowhere else to go
said
okay

Robin Wrenn-Fiore Poem
You detached me from your regard.
You devalued me with your unkindness.
Your unapologetic apathy underscored my uselessness.
But, when you told me to get out, you were redundant.
I was already gone.

Robin Wrenn-Fiore Poem
Lizzie Antoinette
I knew a princess
who ruled her kingdom
From the tip of her nose
she looked down.
Her father was relegated
to celibacy
Because she considered them
competition.

Robin Wrenn-Fiore Poem
Haiku feels like math
How can I express my world
When I‘m down to five?

Complex
I’m sorry I shocked you
As you reached for your dependable
Marshmallow
You grabbed the edge of my saber

Robin Wrenn-Fiore Poem
Little Me
Little fingers, little toes
Little bones, yet no one knows
How horrible you are to me.
We both saw the wall coming.
The difference was that you made it happen,
As you flung me by my ponytail.

Robin Wrenn-Fiore Poem
Reflection
It hit just like you.
Yet, all the red flags were there.
Face planted again.
