A Child Loaned

I'll lend you for a little time
a child of mine, he said,
for you to love the while she lives
and mourn for when she's dead.

It may be six or seven years,
 or twenty two or three,
But will you, till I call her back,
take care of her for me?

She'll bring her charms to gladden you,
and should her stay be brief,
 You'll have her lovely memories
 as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay,
 since all from earth return;
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.

I've looked this wide world over,
 in my search for teachers true;
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
 I have selected you.

Now will you give her all your love,
 nor think the labour vain;
Nor hate me when I come to call,
 and take her back again?

I fancied that I heard them say,
 Dear Lord, Thy will be done;
for all the joy the child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shelter her with tenderness,
 We'll love her while we may;
And for the happiness we've known,
 forever gratefull stay.

But should the angels call for her
 much sooner than we'd planned;
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
 and try to understand.

And maybe soon we will.

With This New Day

I have lived,
And felt the cost,
Paid my dues,
But I have lost_ You.

 Still I pray,
As chaos looms,
And as my blue turns into grey,
I hear__
The angels sing- In tune.

 Don't be giving in,
Don't give up my son,
Or fade away,
Lift your chin with the sun__ And rise,
With this new day!.

 I have lived,
And felt the cost of all my wonderin ways,
I've paid my dues,
I - Have lost you.

I can hear the angels sing,
Your in a mistaken land__ Lessons learned in truth,
As the grey seeks out the blue,
She will__ Your daughter my son---
She will return--- To You.

For I have lived,
Felt the cost of all my walkin days,
I've paid my dues,
I- Lost you....

I wont be giving in,
Won't give up my girl,
Or fade away,
I'll lift my chin with the sun---
And RISE--
With this new day...

First Words

*It was only a couple of years,
*That I was there with you,
*Holding your love in my arms,
*And drying your eyes of the tears.

*But the memories I have of that time,
*Are how your first words made this new father cry,
*And how watching you take,
*Your very first step,
*Not when i'm dead will I even forget.

*And that night as we lay just to rest,
*I couldn't believe what you just did next,
*As you lay silently gazing deep into my eyes,
*DAD DAD DAD DAD,
*Was your most brilliant surprise.

*Now as soon as you knew,
*This new thing you could do,
*You said it over and over,
*Like the endless waves of the tide.

*But to fall,
*You would fall asleep,
*Fighting off your heavy eyes,
*While never knowing how you left me,
*So amazed by your surprise.

*But those days they’re long and gone,
*And how quickly it comes,
*The old school yard,
*And how getting a hug,
*Has become bloody hard.

*But everyone once will regret,
*Something they have done,
*Like protecting a life,
*But and or leaving one.

*But not when i'm dead will I ever forget,
*Watching my girl,
*Take her very first step,
*Nor the words that she said,
*One night as we lay just to rest,
*DAD DAD DAD DAD,
*And you said it over and over again.

*You’re my little girl no matter the age,
*You’re my little girl and that'll not change,
*I'm your Father and Friend- Protector and Guide,
*I will teach you the vision I've seen through these eyes,
*And how easy mistakes and regrets are to find.

*You’re my little girl and please don’t forget.
*DAD DAD DAD DAD!!,
*Were the very first words,
*That you ever said..

I Am a Man

I am a man
Who once stood upon the top of his mountain
I am a man
Who had everything he could ever ask for
I am a man
Who held his whole world in his hands
I am a man
Who through his own stupidity crushed it all to dust
I am a man
Who has lost his daughter
I am a man
Who lost his dear wife
I am a man
Who has lost his family
I am a man
Who's whole world collapsed, was turned upside down, torn apart and scattered like the dust he created
BUT I AM A MAN
Who today stands stronger for it
I am a man
Who through it all started walking down the road to freedom
I am a that man
Who may have forgotten to wear shoes
But I am that man
Who with every bridge he crossed, struck a match, and watched that bridge
burn to ash
I am a man
Who took his bull by the horns
And SNAPPED THOSE ****ERS OFF!!!
I am a man
Who today stands stronger then any oak tree you will ever find
I am a man
Who has been to hell and back
I created hell myself
AND I HAVE SURVIVED
I am a man
I am a man
I am a man
Who is stronger for it.....

Burnin' Knuckles

Your lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
There it goes,
But you don't even know your destination so,
With a shake of your head,
On goes the trip,
And a whispered three words,
This isn't it.

  Guided by a light,
Of thirty or fourty feet,
But your being driven by a heart,
That has forgotten how to beat.

   Oh No,
Here we go,
Another mile turns into another night,
Another day to drive right outta sight,
Ohhh it's a rollercoaster horror ride.
When looking over burning knuckles into the road,

Oh it's a roller coaster horror ride,
Lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
Your lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
An' there it goes,
But you don't even know destination so,
With a shake of your head,
On goes the trip,
And a whispered three words,
This isn't it.

On it goes_ this isn't it,
On it goes_ this isn't it,
Your trip_ Into the unknown,
While lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
And guided by a light,
An' a heart_ that has forgotten how to beat.

Your lookin over burnin' knuckles into the road,
Strainin eye's on a light that guides,
Our way through what we dont know.

Ohh it's a rollercoaster horror ride,
Being guided by the lonely nights,
While lookin over,
Burnin' knuckles,
Into the road.

Some, Others and Me

Some get the talent,
 Some get the good looks,
 An some buy raffel tickets,
 To win frozen chooks.

Some get the good luck,
 Some get their true love,
An some get the cards the're delt,
And a soul they can sell.

Others get what's just not enough,
What's a road if the road's not rough,
Others get somewhat, Some what of whatever they may choose,
 What to choose?
 A pair of shoes,
 To smooth the road ahead.

Some they get their fairy tales,
Some may get a yacht to sail,
But what i've got she calls me dad,
 With all that love entales.

She hugs me tight,
I'll guard her through the night,
An soon she will be sleeping,
Happy as I am right here in this moment,
 Just exceeds whatever's worth dreaming

The Speed the Need

Around and round and round the clock,
Twenty four seven,
Never will we close our eyes,
Until we go to heaven.

Time,
Time is what,
We're not taking slow,
So if you think you'll lose the plot,
Out the door you go.

On this road,
We're sure to face,
An obstical or two,
If they succeed to slow the pace,
Well you know what to do.

After all,
We're all only here,
Once in our life,
So dont hold back,
Or be bound by fear,
And roll those f**kin dice...

Son Brother Cousin

Looking looking looking,

Waiting watching looking,

But you will not be coming,

My dear...

  Twenty maybe five years,

Of looking waiting watching,

But you will not be drying,

My tears...

Days through nights comes the daylight,

Weeks through months pass the years,

Your voice is that of an angel,

Who whispers in my ears...

  Looking waiting watching,

Shadows as they dance,

Watching waiting wishing,

We could have just one more chance...

Before I Knew

These are the things,
 I used to do,
Thats before I knew,
What I was doing was coming to.
 I'd run with the boys,
 Through the fields of pain,
 Chasin white balls,
 Slowly going insane.

I was reaching new heights in my game of life,
 By playing the hands,
 The're not to fold,
By breaking the rules I was told,
An' reading the dice as they were rolled.

These are the things I used to do,
 Before I knew,
What I was doin was comin to.

I'd sit at the end of my driveways end,
 I would,
 Smoke a cigerette,
 I would,
 Stare at the stars
An wish for things I could never get.

These are the things I used to do,
 Before I knew,
What I was doin was coming to.
These are the things I used to do,
 Before I knew

History

Life is as it is when it comes,

My friend- it is as it is when it comes,

We like it, Love it or hate it,

We're movin on,

From yesterday.

Let the bridges burn as you walk,

Rise the silver smoke,

An' let the silent wind guide your hand,

With the blade that carves out your days,

From what you see,

When I ask,

Close your eyes..?

Oh it's a carliedahskope of mystery,

How the colors dance, in the darkness,

An how magicians tricks still amaze,

Oh it’s a carliedahskope of mystery,

All the History..

Life, is as it is when it goes,

My friend it is as it is when it comes,

We like it, Love it Or hate it,

But were livin it,

An' it is as it is- when comes yesterday..

It is as it is and will always be,

The History.
