Spirits

First I feel their cold dark eyes
My body tingles from their stare
I hear sounds when no ones around
For some reason, I attract spirits here
They visit me well into the night
Sometimes, they even haunt my dreams
Although they don’t speak, they stare right at me
Perhaps lost, or stuck in between
Sometimes, my senses begin to go crazy
When I look, they’ve disappeared
I’m completely aware that something was there
The experience is cold, calm, and weird
It could be somebody I know
Or it could even be a demon from hell
Watching over me and waiting to see
Can I handle life’s pain, or kill my self
The spirits dance slow under the moon
With expressionless faces, and darkened eyes
Watching me live, so eager to give
My freshly freed spirit to the afterlife
They’re attracted to me for my ability to feel
Everyone else is just numb and blind
Somehow I can sense their ghostly presence
My pain and depression make me easy to find
So I sit alone, late at night with my pen
As lightning sizzles across the sky
I can ignore the sounds when no ones around
But I can’t ignore feeling their cold, dark eyes

Bluebonnet Days

on a bluebonnet day
the dew itself just set
as i just wake up
pour my bourbon in a cup
this is as good as i get

on this bluebonnet day
i set in a garden and write
as i clear my mind
i get lost in time
bleeding verse until night

the end of a bluebonnet day
sitting drunk in my own demise
my cares buried deep
i begin to count sheep
to dream of bluebonnet skies

I Hung It For You

i reach for the moon and take it down
i dust it off and turn it around
i find a place above the trees
and hang it back up where ever i please
we gaze in wonder at our new moon
but daylight takes it away too soon
never forget what ever you do
the night i hung the moon for you

Make Me Smile

we laugh and joke and play a while
it doesn't take much to make me smile
all you do and what you say
captures my heart and takes me away
your always near, loves never far
i see myself where ever you are
come lay down in my arms awhile
it doesn't take much to make me smile

From Starved, To Death

as travelers do
i searched for food
drifts of snow
i fought my way through
i came to a cabin
deep in the woods
i knocked politely
as any man should
there came no answer
nobody is home
i walked inside
feeling ever alone
a loaf of bread
don't mind if i do
my taste buds ignite
and just as i chew
the shot rang out
i hit the floor
the blood ran thick
I'm hungry no more
my body went numb
now i cant see
from starved, to death
there's no saving me

She Spills the Stars

she spills the stars in the sky in her sleep
the girl with wet naked dreams in her head
as the ground shakes, she starts to weep
she knows if she falls, she'll likely be dead
on a tight rope of silk, she walks through the sky
she never looks back or loses her way
the tears turn to stars and fall from her eye
walking until the sun hits her face
the sun burns the silk, she must be gone
through the darkness she falls ever so deep
she wakes up to peace and grins with a yawn
remembering the stars in the sky from her sleep

Paradise

we love and lust every waking hour of every passing day.
the bed lay witness to every exhausting adventure.
if only stories of its witness were passed to ink.
books of such beauty are timeless.
everybody subscribes to love.
few have found it in as pure form as you and i.
we spin stars and part seas with the ways we move.
every sway of your body drives me to the ways of a mad man.
as our divine moment passes, we lay in exhausted contentment.
if only i could convey such works of the heart in ink.
then they would all drown in envy.
we love and lust every waking hour of every passing day.
its paradise.

November 21st, 2013

The day you were born, my soul was set free
From the chains and pain that held on to me
No longer swimming with demons, They all let me be
As the love took hold, the angels did sing.

The day you were born, my eyes opened wide
All my feelings of doubt began to subside
As my heart, and yours, would softly collide
I held you, I loved you, my soul swelled with pride

The day you were born was the best day of my life
Forever etched into time by the blade of my knife
From a man, to a father, I earned my stripes
The day you were born, god showed me the light.

The Cult

let my words guide you
do only as i say
there's nothing we cant get through
this is the only way
come with me to the other side
my souls light will guide you
you cannot run and dare not hide
this journey has been made by few
take this cup and drink to me
together we will fly away
leave your body by the sea
the afterlife greets us today
drink my child, bottoms up
my wisdom serves me well
our bodies lay by empty cups
while our souls gather in hell
