The day you were born, my soul was set free
From the chains and pain that held on to me
No longer swimming with demons, They all let me be
As the love took hold, the angels did sing.
The day you were born, my eyes opened wide
All my feelings of doubt began to subside
As my heart, and yours, would softly collide
I held you, I loved you, my soul swelled with pride
The day you were born was the best day of my life
Forever etched into time by the blade of my knife
From a man, to a father, I earned my stripes
The day you were born, god showed me the light.
