Artist

Tonight like a child,
                           caring not the time
                                  nor the place.
                         Studying you as only an
                                artist could know.
                          The lines and features
                             of your face.

                          I've painted this picture
                               a thousand times,
                             remembering you,
                                  when we're apart.

Enough

Walk the beach with me today,
                       and hold my hand,
                    for I am lonely.
                  Smiles are expensive,
                     and I haven't enough money,
                   for the down payment.

Your Form

Here in the shadows of the evening
                                       light blocked,
                                   by the rooms covered windows.

                                   I know your form,
                                         from touch.
                                   The valleys,
                                       the smothness of your skin.
                                    The smell from your long
                                          prefumed hair.

                                    I need not a picture
                                         to store away.
For your image is buried deep
                                           within my mind.

Todays Special

If you go with me,
                                      todays special is
twice around the moon and back.
                               Gathering stardust for your collection,
                                    just you and me.

                                Learning the constellations,
and making a few of our own.

                                And when we return,
we'll write a book and become
                                        learned people.
And if the special doesn't fit,
we can have hot dogs and beans.

The Lone Sentinel

The Lone Sentinel

                                  As I walk the beach
                                        a seagull
                                    a lone sentinel,
                                 announces my coming.
                                 His shrill cry beckoning,
                                   his comrades to fly.

                                      When I pass,
                                    they will return
                              as though I'd never passed
                                    that way before.

                              Covering my tracks with their
                                    thousand little feet.
                               And again that lone sentinel,
                                   Posted to guard against
                                         intruders.

Old Shoe Box

I'll take our times together,
                             and put them away
                           in a old shoe box.
                            Wrapped in yesterdays newspaper.

                            Brought back when things
                               weight me down.
                            Hidden from prying eyes,
                              and those who may
                                  understand.

                             For when the clouds arrive,
                                   and storms brew over the
                             horizon.
I'll hide away and open my shoe box,
                               and smile the day away.

Waiting a Long Time

Tucker Carwile

                                   So many years,
                                         hiding,
                                    always wondering,
                                      if these works are real.

                                    Finding you with
                                          just a click.
A place to post your thoughts.

                                     Reading others,
                                         that have been hiding
                                      as I ,

                                      Thank you poetysoup,
                                            for making my
                                       feelings come true.

When I'M Down

Remembering the sky
                                    yesterday,
                              the blueness in color,
                                 warm winds bringing back
                               times of summers
                                        years ago.
                             Clouds lofting above,
                                 as if passing through
                               another time.

                               When I'm down,
I'd like to hitch a ride
                                      on a cloud.
                              Taking me up and away,
                                floating above my
                                   troubles,
                              putting me away from my
                                enemies

Strange Places

When I rolled over with you,
                                     I gazed at blankets
                                            hung over dirty windows,
                                   The ceiling,
                                          with designs from
                                       JC Penney Co.

                                      And then,
                                            there you are.
                                      Smiling,
                                            touching,
                                         knowing that with you.
                                      We can make this place
                                         the Hilton.

Simplicity

I was wandering,
                          until I met you.
                   You wih your explanation
                        of love.
                    Me guarding against things
                       I as afraid of.

                    I was apprehenensive in showing
                         emotions.
                     Not wanting to get involved,
                        me explaining all things
                                    scientifically.

                      Could I, with my education,
                         have missed the simplest equation,
                            that of love and caring.
