Ash of Dawn

All was hushed this eerie dawn
For ash had claimed the day
Disguising shape and muffling noise
Enshrouding all in grey--
Long the haze had swathed the cliffs
In veils of silver white
Till overnight like fleeting soot
It vanished with the light.

Growing Up

She invades my sleep questioning her youth's uncertainties
yet lifts my hopes and dreams, words spoken in riddles from puzzled mind
my teen daughter, handing wildflowers on my weary lap.

Through broken nights and tear- stained days, her moods rages on
life's once still pond now grows weeds around cast pebbles, throwing all blame
a growing daughter, angry at fate's pick for her today.

Still, confusion draws more than stormy clouds when fear gives in
lessons to be learned, boundaries to be set while fury abounds,
wearing flowers in her hair, she smiles like beauty in bloom.

When Night Freezes

when night freezes---
bonfire gathers charcoal
exploding in heat

A Sudden Goodbye

Brief letter seals a goodbye

Are you telling me?

Life goes on?

Farewell, Winter

The sharp bite of winter
In her freezing heights
With chills that shiver the hearth
And seek shelter from the flakes;
Through soft, floating kisses
An irreversible need,
With dreams of a new season
Pulling the wind to retrieve
Each day from its cold existence
When buds start to whirl
As snow melts under sun's display--
Here and now, I say farewell
To an equinox ready for an adieu;
Waving" next time"; her wonder
A blessing and a trial!

When Fire Glows

The minty wood smoke beckons me
As a thirst of love’s rhapsody
Burns fireplace

Where hours unfold a night’s craving
Like glittered strokes upon the wing
Of fireflies

And time’s fervor awash in glow
Heightens couple- play, to bestow
Sky’s fireworks.

Unblocked

blinded by restraints
I tread upon new grasslands
swayed in virgin dew

my world changes hues
greeting positive musings
with enlightenment

The Lonely

Behind an old rotten box,
lies a home for the lonely and unsatisfied
and while trash looks like trash,
trash can be an abode
which can even create pleasure,
in delicate forms of laughs and smiles.
And on those nights when trash is trash,
pay little attention to this nuisance
but when trash reads gaiety,
never let the day fade.
