Reminiscing Is Nice...

As she stood reminiscing,
I saw her mother's veil laying there at her feet,
I picked it up and held it close,
Irridescent and white it captivated me,
I touched its patterns and traced its lines,

Then, my eyes found her face,
I looked at her and she gazed at me,
Her eyes fixated on the hand I held,
and a single ring,
and her tears began to fall as I started to say:

" I have no doubts and I have no fears,
that you are my heart; you are my soul,
my only love and my only hope,
the only one for me and so much more,
my only wish & my only love unplanned,
and I can't see life without your hand,

because all I want is just one chance,
just one opportunity to love you now,
and that's all I'll need to prove my love,
to prove forever and for all eternity,
that you my love are the only one for me,
because it's only you I love and you I need,

For me there is no other, you're all I want,
and if you were mine you'd end my pain,
so here I am, on one knee,
and all I want is to know just one thing,
will you take my hand, will you marry me?"

I Could Watch You Breathe Forever

Sitting before you I grasp your hands,
and kiss the tears from your face,
reassuring you that you aren't weak,
because you mean so much more to me,
and now, our souls lay together, yours in mine,

Just entwined,
I pull you close, your face against mine,
and I feel your heart beat through your chest,
I feel your breath as it cascades my neck,
you are Eternity in my arms and in your ear I whisper sweet :

"Don't worry it will be just fine,
I'm here for you, I'm here tonight,
just close your eyes and trust in me,
and I'll keep you safe while you dream,
you are it for me, my everything."

Opening your eyes,
you look at me longingly,
then you pull me close, so I take my place,
for this night we rest in one another's arms,
sleeping peacefully; your beauty overwhelms me,
you consume my dreams,
and tonight I rest beside you, my everything.

Beginning of the End

I remember it, that night we crashed into fate and saw defeat,
Thinking back it was your doorway light that filled my mind,
Because it was under that light that I took a seat and watched us burn,
And the funeral was nice so I said "goodbye" and "I'll see you soon",

That night both our heads hung low,
And even though it was 75 it still felt cold,
Because minutes passed without a word,
And for us silence was all we had,

And as I turned to leave you asked me quick,
"we'll be friends, won't we still?",
I said "Of course" but you stared in disbelief,
Your eyes filling with my obvious insincerity,

So then I turned and took the steps I never thought I'd have to take,
And I left before you could see the tears leave my face,
Six months later and I still see you as I saw you then,
Standing there beneath your doorway light, a lone figure in the night.
