Jennifer Stifter Poem
Every day the same girl
Stares out her window.
It’s like she sits there waiting,
For something to happen.
But every day she is a little less satisfied,
Because tears roll down her cheeks.
She looks trapped, lonely,
Like there is something more out there
Then what lies in her hands.
What is she waiting for?
What else is out there waiting for her?
Is there someone out there
Who longs for her,
As much as she longs for them?
She watches the world pass her by
Minute by minute
Hour by hour
There’s a place out there
Somewhere other than home
Where she feels she belongs.
In the arms of someone
Whose love will never end.

Jennifer Stifter Poem
I am rigid but secure.
I sit along side a path
Having a view of the glistening pond.
I see people walk by,
They come and they go.
But there is this one girl,
Who’s different from the rest.
She is young and genuine,
Her blue eyes show a sign of comfort.
She is one out of many that sit upon me.
I see her looking out
Daydreaming about life.
I hear her mumble words under her breath,
Like asking questions,
She’s looking for answers.
This girl,
She always has a smile on her face,
Like something amazing as happened here,
Like she knows there is still hope.
She holds on, and keeps going.
The girl lets out a sigh
As she gets up to leave.
While walking away
She turns with a smile on her face.
And that’s how I know she will be back again.
