Rowboat

Rowboat
I row and I row
In only circles I go
Then, I stop and float.

Houdini's Buoyancy

Waves bring you from shore
the ocean is your new home
tides devour you.

Face It

Remove your hands from your face
Take a look around and see
who was there in your space
it was me
who loves you so
I make mistakes
Yes this is true
At least I can admit
that I do

Remove your hands from your face
Take a look around and see
You are in your own way
Every single day
Yes, you may smile
You make others laugh
You have a beautiful front
I see you, I know you

Remove your hands from your face
Take a look around and see
Open your hands
Stretch your arms
Embrace me
Let me love you
Love me back
Protect me
And
I will protect you
Take care of me as I do you

Remove your hands from your face
Remove your fear once and for all
Let go and see
All that can be
Get out of your own way
I am not them
I am bare
I am here
I go nowhere

Remove your hands from your face
Take a look around and you will see
It is I who has the patience you speak
It is I who believes in you
It is I running towards you
Not away
I am fighting, “fixing”
I am bare
My soul to share
I go nowhere

Remove your hands from your face
I please please beg of you to take a look and you will see
That it was I, myself, finding a way out of me.
If it were not for you, I could never have seen
She was right here
Now bare
My soul to share
I go nowhere

Remove your hands from your face
Distinguish the narcissm
Remove the labels you have on me
Know when to fold your stubbornness
Release your pride
I assure you, I have absolutely nothing left to hide
My cards are all right here
I am bare
My soul to share
I go nowhere

Peace

I rest now in peace
Placed thy swords in their scabbards
White flag flies up high

Ode To My Java

I hear you brew
the sounds you make
I love every whistle
How long must it take!

The scent fills the room
Coffee heaven
In full bloom
I inhale
As I watch the pot fill
HURRY,
I think as my cup is empty still!

It is time
I fill O’cup
That first sip
The moment
it touches my lip
Then my tongue
It’s not just the taste
I know what’s to come

Constrict my vessels
One by one
Warm me up
On cold days
Coffee does so much
With little credit
In many ways

Coffee.

Fear Street

We can run from it, if we try
We can hide from it, so we think
But it’s right here in us, weaving its web
Right inside lurking, at our every move
Beating like a second heart,
becoming one with our being
Has its own remote start,
as if it begins to control our every step
every action, awaiting reaction

We try to fight it, yet sometimes bask in its comforts
Think we are bright in its light
With just and might we hold up its swords
No denying our inner thoughts in delight
How strong it beats in defeats
How forceful it fights against good not evil
Yet subtly attacks our subconscious
It can be deafening
Yet, longing for freedom

Justify its place in our core
Hold a shield to its space
Such a disgrace to give it face
Let it go
Set if free
Let it be
Just a you
Just a me

It cripples one so much
When power is given and it overtakes
Power, give it no more
As any other dirty bore
We will make more mistakes
That is what life is all about
For in certainty there will be some bouts
Rest assure you are no longer welcome anymore

How lovely a thought
How freeing of the mind
Leaving a trace of it behind
No room no more
As is it just harbored my function
So glad to leave it at the last junction

You play many as a tool
Suck us in your game
Time to tame
The fool
That is you

Release you
Once and for all
Mightier
One can grow tall

Fear.

Labyrinthine Simplicities

Don’t misconceive my mercy for weakness
Exponent to impuissance that bestows
Ascertain verity of Uniqueness
Appreciate my pose of apropos

Strength my forte led by capriciousness
I once shattered and left to be consumed
Thy inner voice pierces my graciousness
Amidst the flightiness presence presumed

I am semblance of authenticity
Your erroneous conclusions expressed
Trapped in mirrors of your duplicity
It is not I who is too dispossessed

My force is life, full of joys and treasures
Multiplied faithfully, basked in pleasures

Conscious Soul

Awake in wonderment
As my heart still lays dormant
I watch the hours on the clock
tick tock, tick tock
minute by minute
as the seconds pass
thy mind wanders
my soul twitches

A fire created ever so fierce
Penetrates so deep
Thy soul even creeps
It inhales its new breathes
Takes its first steps
Reaches new depths
Yet somehow virgin-like anew
Cautiously approaches each thought
Encroaching thresholds sought

A genuine soul
Ready, willing,
Screaming for thrilling
as my heart still lays dormant
Awake in wonderment
Very encapsulated
Exhaling freedom
Thought provoked
Ego stroked
conscious soul
Classical rhythm
Fire fierce
Pierce, just pierce

Peaceful, peace
Lustful, love
Fierceful, feast
Ferocious beast
awakened soul
Fire within
Enlightened light
Brightened bright

My soul aches
Screams for righteousness
The follower of good deeds
Planter of seeds
Sower of oats
just let it be
fire ignite

Conscious mind
you’re alright…

Reflection

I don’t know a pain worse that you
You cry out that I am the hypocrite
When all along it was indeed not I, but you
I think I finally figured it out you see,
That I was merely your mirror
A reflection
You were using
Something yet
You still have no idea
That is not me
But solely
Yourself
Lonely as you are
Looking
Searching for a way out
Nothing simple about you
You want
But cannot reach
You strive but really aren’t alive

You gave me the biggest slap
That was the absolute worst disgrace
You have shown no respect for me
or
your own inner space

they always say
know a man
by the friends that he keeps
I really should have taken that to heart
The moment I met those God awful peeps

Barren old slut that she is
Disrespectful and grim
Hides behind her smile like you she does
Perhaps you feel at peace
A comfortable reflection
At last
One that fits
No pressure
To be your best

A barren old slut is she
One that hits on a man
Who stands next to his woman?
WOW, she is olden golden

She travels so far chasing a band
So much yet to reflect
Keep the mirror
Oh so clean

Your reflection
Your mistake
You care not
You just take
Take
Take

You called yourself a villain
As I didn’t see
Perhaps it was your own way
Of warning me
Rest him
As you say
yet be sure you keep him at bay

Take time to reflect
Find the real you
Because right now
I don’t think
You fit in your own shoes
