Butterfly Looks At Me For Answers

The butterfly so weightless looks at me for

answers, questions are mine and abundant, clearly she has stolen

my heart. Center stage stands my attention, her figure like a

sapphire in shades of kindness, her visions are dust on her wings.

Glistening to glimmers as they float away, a moment's duller they

become leaving wings a slight hallow fading, drifting behind in a

place it had once been. Until finally, remaining wings contain

nothing only gray endings, but more beautiful is the world for it's

                colorful fire remains.

For a Short Time

For a short time I fed you breakfast,
                                      changed your diapers
and taught you how to walk.

For a short time we learned to talk,
                                       rode bikes and played baseball.

For a short time your eyes could
hide no secrets, your desires were
                                      spoken your goals were clear.

For a short time we were a family,
you had a brother a step dad and
                                      a mother.

For a short time you were well
                                      loved among your family and
friends as well as school mates.

For a short time we forgot how
                                      to pray.

For a long time you were taken from
me, because of my mistakes and
                                      bad choices.

For a long time let's pray
                                      we'll be back together,
I want to be your mother.
I want to feel alive again.

God May Have Played Favorites

I think God may have played favorites to give us the parents
that we had. They taught us how to

love and be thoughtful and glad. They couldn't stress enough to
never hold a grudge with someone for more

than a day, you never know what catastrophe could strike and take
that person away. Another was to show appreciation by

actions because talk is somewhat cheap. It houses insincere
gestures that honor just can't keep. My mom's

eyes were glazed and full of tears, her courage made her fight.
Cancer took both breasts and hair our prayers

kept hope in sight. She never showed her fear to us and cooked
dinner most every night. Her love was

so strong and powerful she never got the recognition she deserved.
That's why I dedicate this poem to my mom

and thank God for what I've learned. The last visit at the
hospital my mom took her last breath and died in

my arms. My whole world started collapsing as I screamed for the
nurse in alarm. I wanted to bring my mom back

to tell her sorry for the mean things I had once said but the
doctor said her lungs had filled with fluid and

had drowned and was now dead. We were all consumed in sadness my
dad had lost his way. He stopped eating and

got sick and died 3 months later almost to the very day. This is
the first time I have ever been able to share

with anyone what my heart has been trying to say. The warm feeling
when God embraces me every time I pray.

Discovering Love At a Signal

The night begins with a cool ocean breeze bringing the uncomfortable temperatures of humidity to a sudden halt. Through the canyons I can hear the distant whispers of innocent voices speaking softly with discontent like they were being punished for their sins. Straddled in the sky was a loud explosion of fireworks bringing emotions through a colorful network in a magical way, as sound boldly penetrates our vast endless universe. Then I heard the cry of death, a faiint squeal of a puppy getting attacked and eaten by coyotes. In the midst of what became suddenly calm and silent, I could hear the crickets. These were not ordinary crickets they were true performers on a stage, each one of them taking turns to do their vocal lead in the key of E. It was very entertaining listening to them, but I decided to go for a cruise when I came to that signal. It was at that red light I saw you, operating through the force of gravity I am drawn to you. Oblivious to my surroundings, my focus is on you. When I see you it is like I am in a trance, my eyes are fixed on you and only you. Nothing else matters, nothing else is in my sight.I am so honored to be in your presence, the desire to have you is so strong. I cannot move I am speechless, talking only with my eyes. Your beauty and your smile just melts my heart away. I examine you from head to toe, wishing with every living breathing part of me that I could lick you and taste a tapestry of love. If I could make a wish on the next full moon, it would be to hold you so close to my heart. Your smell the softness of your skin touching every single part of me, bringing happiness to a whole new level. Then the light turned green and you were gone. As reality sets in and tears fill my eyes, I will never give up hope. This moment of adoration will last an eternity. I will see you in my dreams, as the cosmic forces guide me to my soul mate.
