Broken Heart

The story is about a boy and his dad,
The father struck the boy every time he was bad.

It started when he was five, he was your average child,
His father screamed at him, to take away his smile.

The did not have friends, no sisters and no brothers,
His father first hit him, when he lost his mother.

You would know how he felt, if you saw his welts,
His father meant business, when he took off his belt.

The boy always dreamed, he could escape someday,
But when he looked at his father, he only saw one way.

The father would get drunk, play with his gun,
Then load the pistol, and aim it at his son.

Then take away his toys, hit him in the face,
Leave the place and disappear without a trace.

The father needed sympathy, so the child was used,
He thought of his mother, every time he was abused.

Then daddy would hug him, which made him feel confused,
He thought if daddy really loves me, then why am I bruised.

Seven years passed by, the father started to feel shame,
The boy got in trouble, the father knew he was to blame.

He knew he was responsible for all the boys pain,
So he quit his violent ways, he tried to make a change.

The boy was now twelve, he had few friends,
He was getting into things, his father could not comprehend.

The boy used drugs and alcohol to mend his broken heart,
He was only happy when he and his father were apart.

The father prayed, he could take his boys pain away,
He knew that eventually , the child was going to stray.

He tried everything in his power , to get the boy some help,
He could not help but feel , that he did it to himself..

The boy cared about nothing, he was always depressed,
His past was the reason, he was so stressed.

The father gave up, felt he had tried his best,
Then one night as he slept, the boy shot him in the chest.

So remember the next time, you go to raise a fist,
Things can come back to haunt you, karma does exist.

Just Be

JUST BE

I have been through courts, I have been through divorce,
I have come up short, I have seen real support.

I have lost many friends, some of them to death,
But others were lost , to a lack of respect.

I have spent a lot of time alone, no one by my side,
The ones I have loved the most, are those that have died.

I have lost many lovers, I miss how they have held my hand,
They judged me as a man, not for who I am.

I am plagued by mental illness, some call me crazy,
Others just look at me and say I am fat and lazy.

I have been pushed around ever since I was a baby,
I used to cry alot, but lately I have been angry.

I am merely a man, I know I am nothing special,
But we are all special , our soul and our vessel.

Never forget that you will set yourself free,
And you will be able to be whatever you want to be.

Find My Nest

I spend a lot of time by myself contemplating,
The rest of the world spends their time just waiting.

I am so indecisive, so I am endlessly debating,
I care about my future, my past keeps fading.

I love to be alone, because I am my own best friend,
Everything begins now, meanwhile all the rest ends.

I typically go crazy, at least every other year,
I have done things to my family, that every mother fears.

I have chosen to write poetry, make it my career,
I have quit my drugs, I have quit drinking beer.

I have always been very special,
I refer to my body as my precious vessel.

At least I can say, that I have tried my best,
I reveal my life a little, then I hide the rest.

I know there is a heart that is inside my chest,
I love the concept of family, so I find my nest.

Miss You

We miss you so much, we count the ways,
We think about you at least once a day.

The head of the family, the man that we knew,
The soldier with courage, the one that was true.

The grandfather, the husband, the father, the brother,
The definition of love, you helped us discover.

The man who knew honesty and taught us hard work,
The memories of you , cover up the hurt.

The man who's legacy will always live on,
Some called him Grandpa or father, his friends called him, John.

We mourned your death, and celebrate your existence,
One thing you taught us , is how to be persistent.

Another thing you taught us, is family comes first,
You taught us things can always get worse.

I can not wait to see you on the other side,
These are just some feelings that we have inside.

Thank you for your love, thank you for the lessons,
When we see you in heaven, I will have so many questions.

Until that day we will hold on to your name,
Life without you , will never be the same.

The way you made us happy, over comes the pain,
Thanks to you , many things we have gained.

True Love

Someone that will love you, up until the end,
Someone you can talk to, a lover and a friend.

Someone you can count on, someone you can hold,
Someone with a sense of humor, and a heart of gold.

Someone you can lay with and stare up at the stars,
Someone that will heal your emotional scars.

Someone you can walk with and discuss your past,
Someone you can talk with, a love that will last.

Someone that thinks of you, whenever your apart,
Someone that will always hold the key to your heart.

Someone that will miss you, your destiny, your fate,
Someone you hold dear, proud to call your mate.

They will always be the lover, that you call the one,
Because they fell in love with the person you have become.

Someone you can be with for the rest of your life,
A bond that can exist between a husband and a wife.

Someone to grow old with, someone that makes you smile,
One that you belong with, that will always drive you wild.

Someone that you thank God for, that was sent from above,
Someone that will always be there, the definition of true love.

Lonely

I walked a lonely path, with no one by my side,
Walking through puddles of tears that I have cried.

I try to move forward, but I am stuck in the past,
All by myself, and wishing love would last.

They say nothing is forever, but time marches on,
So I count my blessings with every waking dawn.

I have lost friends and lovers, I have lost alot in my life,
I pray to find happiness, each and ever night.

Should I keep going, should I stay focused,
Hard to keep moving, when everything seems hopeless.

I try to get some years back, I try to understand,
I try to be perfect, but I am just a man.

I try to keep my head up, but it is hard to stand,
I try to do my best, I do what I can.

It is hard to stay happy, depression setting in,
My past is my problem, future getting grim.

I will wake up tomorrow to another lonely day,
I would be happy where I am, if I could only stay.

Everything

It is when you need someone and nobody is there,
It is when you talk to God, your living on a prayer.

It is when you live life, without a second to spare,
It is when you have a day, where you just do not care.

It is when you are feeling down and happiness is a must,
It is when your unsatisfied, living in disgust.

It is when you bottle up your feeling , until your going to bust,
It is when you are all alone with no one to trust.

It is when you are confused and you are feeling lost,
It is when you pay the price, no matter the cost.

It is when you lose a love, you feel all the pain,
It is when you do something nice and there is nothing to gain.

It is when you shoot for the sky, you do not need to aim,
It is when people say, things will never be the same.

It is like the deaf trying to hear, blind trying to see,
It is everything you can imagine, it is you and me.
